As a tribute to our love.
For this day is for lovers,
From all the Cupids above.
Since the day we met,
There was something going on.
Not always something good, you see,
It didn't matter if it was right or wrong.
There were so many obstacles,
Everywhere we turned.
The differences between us,
The respect we had to earn.
First your way, then mine,
It was trial and error indeed.
Trying to find out from each other,
Just what the other one would need.
We are so different,
You were burdoned with so much pain.
I had to teach you how to forgive,
With grudges, you had nothing to gain.
You taught me as well,
To stand on my own.
Since we've been together,
We each have grown.
Now, so many years together,
We've grown to understand.
The wants and needs and beliefs,
Between a woman and a man.
So, today I pledge my love,
So true and never to die.
To you, my love,
Never to look back or ask why.
I hope our years together,
Last through eternity and more.
Till we meet again in Heaven,
Upon that Heavenly shore.
