SFO 2005-2006 Season Rodelinda
(Review - Lulu) The production is unobtrusively ingenious. Wedekinds story and Bergs score can hardly have been set in any single place or era; rather they are best given the universalisation of Hollywood. This is precisely what set designer Paul Steinberg and costume designer Buki Shiff have achieved.(Lighting Designer Pat Collins)(Review 2)

Pat Collins made an auspicious debut as lighting designer with a subtle, imaginative contribution. To great comic effect, Collins illuminates Falstaff's corpulence in one scene with a broad shadow that inspires the buffoon to marvel at his own grandeur. Throughout, Collins' gentle touch creates an elegant visual backdrop. The sets and costumes by John Conklin are likewise understated and effective. As the action unfolds, the sets grow steadily more spacious. (Review Falstaff)
