It is 6 am here, I just got home about an hour ago. Today was an amazing day in Gozo, and I really appreciated life more than ever, the beauty of the sites there are hypnotic. I felt so lucky to have such a wonderful family and to have been given this opportunity to study abraod this year. Jasmin and I were tired so we came home and had a nap, we did not wake up until 11:30 which is okay because on Saturday night it is good to go out late in Malta seeing as the 14 year olds go out earlier. We drank some wine and I made a late dinner we took our time getting ready and left our apartment at 1 something to go to Paceville (which is a very close walk to our apartment and we have done it many times now...)
We decided to take the longer route and walk along the beautiful coast, where there are also more pedestrians. I kept talking to her, to see if she was conscious, she was, but had no clue what happened, I told her and put my jacket on her to help keep her warm during shock. A docter driving by was on the scene quite quickly and was checking her pulse and blood pressure. There was a huge pile of blood coming from her face are which really concerned me but he checked and it was only from her lip which she had bit down on. She was moving her arms and both feet so we could tell most likely there was no spinal injury.
The man driving the car was shaking and felt so bad, but it was not in the least bit his fault, we didn't see him, only the perverted masturbator on the sidewalk.
The ambulance came, immobilized her and we went to the hospital. Luckily everything was okay, the worst that happened was a bunch of very sore muscles and a badly cut lip. But I am so thankful she did not break her legs, or even worse, her spine, or suffer a fatal hit. I am really upset right now, and so thankful for her life and my own. Earlier today we were having such a beautiful time and it only takes a few seconds for everything to change. She is alseep now, but I cannot sleep.
