George Fuller Harris was born about 1743, York Co., VA and died March 10, 1826 Lincoln Co., KY. He has been established as a patriot in the Revolutionary War by Anne Vestral-Miller. He married Elizabeth Manning. It is believed that all their children were born in Pittsylvania Co., VA and that Elizabteh died there.  For more about George Fuller Harris

About 1793 George removed to KY probably receiving bounty land for his service in the war. His younger children came with him while his oldest son Peter remained in Pittsylvania Co.

George's  son, Moses Harris was born about 1780 in VA and died 1836 in Russell Co., KY. (To view a  transcription of Moses' will).

Moses Harris married Dorcas Stephens January 25, 1802 in Martinville, Henry Co., VA. Dorcas was the daughter of John Stephens and Nancy Dudley.

Moses was a charter member of Wolf Creek United Baptist Church founded in 1807, today which is Pleasant Point Baptist.

George Fuller Harris married Phoebe Bailey. This marriage has been transcribed by Gary Flanagan as occurring on February 11, 1855 with witnesses: W.F. Harris, J.J.C. Harris (sons of George). George is listed on the 1840 Russell Co. Census, age 30-39, no woman in the household, with one male child age 5-9. On the 1850 Census, "Phebe" is in the home with all the sons listed below.

Interesting note: Lois Harris Redding, a Harris researcher, claims that George Fuller Harris married a widow, Phoebe Katherine Bailey who had 10 children, implying that George was not their birth father. This seems a liitle far fetched to me.
