George Fuller Harris born about 1743 York Co., VA and died March 10, 1826 in Lincoln Co., KY.

Information on the parents of George is confusing. Lois Harris Redding did extensive research on the Harris Family (probably in the 1960s or eariler as she mentions visiting the original home of Moses in Russell Co. and that it was still standing and inhabited in 1964). She begins:

"This Harris Family history begins in 1640 in VA when Robert Harris came to the U.S. as a small boy from England, being of Irish descent. Robert's son married Mary Fuller, daughter of George Fuller. They had a son George Fuller Harris, who was left an orphan.

Robert Harris' will dated 1716 mentions his grandson, George Fuller Harris. George Fuller, in his will mentions his grandson, George Fuller Harris of VA."

Ms. Redding states in her preface that Robert's 1716 will mentions grandson, George Fuller Harris, she then provides a transcription of the will, but there is no mention of said grandson.

A larger group of researchers argue that George Fuller Harris appears to be the illegitimate son of William S. Fuller and Mary Harris. The will of William's father, George Fuller, names George Fuller Harris as his "reputed" grandson. Ms. Redding provides a transcription of this will, and yes, George is mentioned as stated.

Current researchers have found many Harris families in the same area of VA and thus confusion on sorting out documents to correct lineage.
