I am not a religious guy and for me all religions are same. There is no doubt I am spiritual and I strongly believe the presence of ONLY ONE God at every corners of atom. I have not read many spiritual books and sciptures. However, I have listed here some of quotations that I like most.
Destiny's last days may surge with oceanic change,
Yet men deemed perfectly good remain, like the shore, unchanged.
Under the hypnotic spell of pleasure; And pain, we live for ourselves and are bound. Though master of ourselves, we roam about
From birth to birth, driven by our own deeds.
He never says "mine."
Gold, stone, earth—They are all the same to him.
He is not bound by sloth,
Nor consumed by his own activity.
He has severed the knots which bind his heart.
Hidden in the cave of the heart,
Leave pain and pleasure far behind. Those who know they are neither body nor mind, But the immemorial Self, the divine. Principle of existence, find the source Of all joy and live in joy abiding.I see the gates of joy are opening
For your Nachiketa.
The crow does not conceal its food but calls its kind to share it; Prosperity will abide with men of such a nature.
He alone sees truly who sees the Lord the same in every creature, who sees the Deathless in the hearts of all that die. Seeing the same Lord everywhere, he does not harm himself or others. Thus he attains the supreme goal.
The Hindus and the Muslims have but one and the same God. What can a mullah or a sheikh do?
Never quarrel about religion. All quarrels and disputes concerning religion simply show that spirituality is not present. Religious quarrels are always over the husks. When purity, when spiri-tuality goes, leaving the soul dry, quarrels begin and not before.
Some call Thee Ram, others Khuda... Some go to the (Hindu) holy places, others go to perform Hajj, Some offer Thee oblations, others bow down before Thee. Some read the Vedas, others the semitic Texts...
Some seek the (Hindu) Heaven, others the (Muslim) Paradise. Says Nanak: "He, who realises the Will of the Lord. He (alone) knows the Mystery of the One, All-powerful God."
"O King, just as the shape of a temple does not affect the sky, the crookedness of the physical body has no effect on Soul. A wise man has innerlook i.e he looks at the Reality behind this manifested world, whereas an ignorant onehas outerlooks i.e. he gets lost in names and forms." There are no eyes, that see like knowledge; there are no joys as in truthfulness; there are no pains as in attachement; and there is no bliss as in desirelessness (in true renunciation). Youthfulness, wealth and property, power, indiscretion-each one can destroy a man; what should we say of him who has all four. Stature is the charm of a man. Character is the charm in the stature. Knowledge is the charm in character. And forgiveness the glory of knowledge. ................. |
