History

Steel Dragons History

The Steel Dragons started by nothing more than a spark of humanity from the almost insane Daj Strife. While in the service of EGA, the seeds of hatred started to grow within Daj's mind. He hated Ryan Blackwolf with a passion. Rage soon overcame him, and instead of sending himself headlong into almost certain death, he decided to leave the faction. Ryan was furious, and decided he was going to kill Daj. Daj retreated to a distant, loyal base in Greenland. Daj had been there many times and knew the officers there would be loyal to no one but him and his family. With only a handful of suits, and even fewer pilots, Daj turned to piracy to get his supplies. He participated in several large scale battles, being the victor out of each and every one of them. After the battle, his forces took salvage, and began work on creating their own army. Soon, more and more pilots arrived to fight for the cause.

Brothers United

Not long after Daj had formed the Steel Dragons he was given a visitor. His older brother Kenji crash landed a core fighter unit left from his destroyed gundam into the property. Andrew was the one to find him and get him situated within the org. Daj quickly saw the need to keep the family at the top rungs and promoted Kenji to Major General, allowing him the ability to take care of most goings on.

The War

Soon after his own army had almost become complete, a full scale war broke out between the Elite Gundam Army (EGA) and the Steel Dragons faction. The war was never really settled, as it was at a stalemate when Daj decided to leave Earth. He sent his people towards a giant, hollowed out asteroid in the asteroid field between Mars and the outer solar system. The asteroid was codenamed "Behemoth", and it became the Steel Dragons home base.

Dragon's Dissappearance

Soon after everything had gotten settled down in the asteroid, the leader of the Steel Dragons, Daj Strife, dissapeared. No one heard from him for almost a year. Ten months later, Daj's suit was found drifting through the asteroids near Behemoth. It was heavily damaged. The missing pilot and leader, Daj Strife, was found inside. He had been in a coma for the last couple months before he was found. He had a mild case of amnesia which eventually cleared up, and he regained his spot as the leader of the Dragons. Several weeks later, Kenji Strife, Daj's second in command, decided it was time to move out past the solar system. Behemoth was hooked to a number of Fold Boosters and the entire organization left the system.

The Essence

During their explorations they settled in a system they came to call the Tyranis System. It was on the planets in that system that the substance known as Dragon's Essence was found, the material being able to grant greater health and long life. It was also discovered that if enough was taken limited newtype ability could be gained or true newtype ability augmented. The only drawback to this was if too much was taken the body became dependant on it and the person would die if it was taken away.

Coming Home

Having disappeared for a couple of years the Steel Dragons made a sudden reappearance, Kenji having been promoted to Lieutenant General after Andrew left the Dragons. Heading to Ryan's base on the moon he made arrangements for a peace between the two organizations so that the rest of them could come back as well. Within a few weeks the entire faction was back in the asteroid belt, with the exception of the freighters carrying Essence to and from Behemoth
