| 29.03.09 'Failures' - The Posthumous Album. Hi everyone. We've decided to release a little posthumous LP to put the band to rest, which should be ready real soon. It's not going to be an officaial release, just an on-demand one really, maybe have a few copies going at the Lancaster music co-op for free or something. Anyway, its going to include the best material from all of our past releases, including previously unreleased stuff like Barriers etc. It will be completely remastered too so it sounds like a proper album! The tracklisting should look something like this: (subject to change, more tracks may be added) 1. Intro* 2. Biometrics 3. Play It Again Sam 4. Barriers* 5. Motion Sickness 6. Technology Is Obsolete 7. Interlude* 8. Vincent Vega 9. Everytihng Is Tired In Its Own Way 10. People Think In Unison 11. End* So, just drop us a line if you'd like a copy. DiP xxx ___________________________________________________________ 08.01.09 A Public Death. (2006 -2008) Well, we've decided to wrap up with Dip... at least in a way of thinking anyway... Basically, we're drawing a line under the band name, and all the stuff we've produced as we have lost momentum with the band in this carnation. However, we, (the members) will be back as a new band, with new & improved better material, and a drummer & 2nd guitarist. (if we ever find em, ha) So, think of it more as a new name and change of musical direction rather than a 'split'. Anyways, no idea why we posted this, as im sure nobody will give a shit, but watch this space as we'll announce more on the new project as soon as we have a name and enough demos etc... Bye for now... DiP xxx ___________________________________________________________ 30.08.08 Escaping Lancaster. Well, our time with Lancaster has just about finally come to an end, and we can honestly say we couldn't be more happy about it! We haven't really had the most pleasant of experiences starting out here, but we would however like to thank the handful of people that did support us and help us out along the way. You are appreciated. We sadly played our final gig with Rowan last night at the Forest of Sound festival at Fellfoot Wood which was a nice experience in a lovely setting. (some footage of that coming soon!) So a massive thanks to Rowan for helping us out these past few months, and best of luck with your future in Leeds! (live dubstep is on the rise, by the way) Also, big shout out to Davey George for giving us a lift and filming us and shizzle! :) Anyways, that's us for now, hopefully have some demos of new material up soon, and will be in gigging action again when we have a new line-up. stay chooned for updates. Glasgow, here we come!!! _____________________________________________________________________ 25.03.08 Instrumental In Silence EP now set free! Yup, we decided to set it free for download, so you can get it either via the music page of our site, or on our last.fm page here, where it already seems to be quite popular, especially 'Everything is Tired...'! Make sure you take advantage of our free gift! _____________________________________________________________________ 10.02.08 Extra! Extra! Bloc Party guitarist joins Death In Public on drums! Well, not really, but we do have his doppelganger :) Yes, luckily, we have finally found a new drummer suitable for our sound and his name is Rowan. Unfortunately as we are going seperate ways in Sept for uni (Josh and Ju to Glasgow, Rowan off to Leeds) we will only be playing with him for this short period, but we thought it would be a good opportunity to get some gigs in before we leave. Anyway, more news soon! _____________________________________________________________________ 08.01.08 Biometrics on BBC Radio 1! Result! Steve Lamacq played Biometrics on radio 1 last night. Well chuffed! Heres what he had to say about it: "There's hints of My Bloody Valentine in there and almost an air of aloofness amid the pretty snarling melody lines. I like it." Email him and demand he play it again, go on, go on, go on etc. Listen again here! ___________________________________________________________ 24.12.07 Biometrics out today! Well, whilst facing the prospect of not having a drummer for possibly quite a while, we have decided to do something a bit different for a bit, A) just for laughs, and B) just to prove to ourselves that we could :) So... we have decided to go instrumental for a while with a drum machine (ala 65DOS etc) Now this wont be a permenant move, just a short term one, so that we can write a few songs and be able to gig without a drummer. Anyways, more news on this as it develops! _____________________________________________________________________ 07.08.07 3rd Single news!
