The Blackcrowned Set

Blackcrowned from left to right: booklet, video and double cd
Here it is, insane Marduk fans! This is my most prized possession, I have two copies, one has never left the plastic wrap. The video is unbelievable, in that it spans from their first gigs as a band to the 2001 U.S. tour. We get to experience Joachim and Legion's vocal style, as well as what the band sounded like with two guitars in the old days and one guitar now. Also in early clips B.War is seen using a pick, whereas later he uses his fingers.
All versions of the band rule, even in the earliest gigs. Favorite moments: watching Swedish fans headbanging brutally, Legion thrusting the microphone into the crowd, blood pouring down the guitarists' arms from self inflicted wounds, fans stage diving, Legion and Joachim screaming Marduk's hellish songs, a thousand fans at the Holland festival shouting "Marduk."
The booklet includes lyrics to over thirty of their songs, as well as a short, yet detailed biography of the band. There are some really cool rare concert photos as well. The double cd is filled with extras: live material, covers, songs for movies that were never released--the works! I couldn't be happier with the material. I can't wait for their upcoming DVD, according to their website it will include backstage footage and a host of extras. I'll add more to this review in the coming weeks, this is only the start of it!
