"I'm 18 and i currently have 3 rats. One who is my best friend (rats don't tell your secrets) she's always there for me (i guess she has no choice) if i'm sad she'll lick up my tears, if i'm mad she calms me down, lonely she keeps me company....... We've gotten to the point where when i call her name and make a "clicky" noise she comes running to me. Let me tell you it's an awesome feeling when a small fuzzy comes running to you when you call. I also have one boy who i swear thinks he's a dog, he will ltteraly fall asleep when you scratch behind his ears, and he gives TONS of kisses. I just got a new baby girl and the excitement never gets old... i felt like a little kid on Christmas, i was so excited. I cant wait to get to know her and she what kind of personality she has. RATS ARE AWESOME!!! i can't see myself EVER, NOT having a rat."

"Here's something to shock you ... I own 45 rats! I made the leap from owning to breeding, and although most seem to think I MUST be odd - I'm not some weirdo who stinks like old urine. I live in a respectable neighborhood, I'm a rather fastidiously clean person, and I work full-time. I've owned all types, all shapes, all sizes of pets and hands-down, rats are one of the best. Intelligent, clean and loving; most people don't expect a critter with such a bad rap to make you feel so warm and fuzzy inside. I've had rats for nearly two decades, and I'm still constantly amazed by how mischevious and intelligent they are. I always get comments when they're out in town with me - they're such heart stealers and hams its incredible! If you want a pet you'll never forget, rats are the best!"

"I have always loved, every creature imaginable. Even though there were many I would never touch, I think every one out there is interesting and beautiful in their own way... When I first heard the word Fancy Rat, I was like what is that? Isnt a rat a rat? Then I got my first rat Rupert, and that was 6 years ago.. In that time, my LOVE and furry family has grown several times.. Maxing at one point at 49 ratties.. Their personalities astonish me for such small animals.. They are so curious and adventurous, and always there for you(yes though they are caged hehe). They are almost more attentive then a dog or a cat, they are the first ones to poke their tiny little heads around when you are unhappy or mad or whatever. They are just truely amazing little creatures. I dont think my life would be the same having never owned a rat."

"I got my first rat 3 years ago, from a friend who tryed to feed it to her Snake and the Snake wouldnt eat it. Let me tell you, this rat is one of a kind. When I first picked her up, she literally licked and licked my face, til I had to pull her away because it was to much kissing! 3 years later, she is as healthy as anything and she really does love me. Its amazing how a rat could show so much affection. They know when your happy or sad or lonley, and really do make you feel better. I have owned over 35 rats at one time, and they all have their own special personalities. They are very clean and smart animals. I dont think I could ever not own a rat."

"We got our first rat about nine months ago. My daughters friend suggested she get one because she thought they were the coolest pet ever. Kate got her (Frankie) thinking well if I don't like her I can always give her to her friend or feed her to a snake in the science lab. I've always liked most animals, but have never considered having a rat for a pet - not to mention we have two cats that hunt, and Kate is very picky about the critters she likes. Frankie made rat lovers of us. She drinks coffee with Kate, steals Kates burritos, and eats the glue sticks when Kate is making posters. She does a lot of things with Kate, and she even does the rat equivalent of rolling her eyes and sighing! She's very talkative and loves to talk to her Kate - she loves me too but the bond between Kate and her is like the one between boy and dog in Disney movies. Frankie likes the feel of the cats fur and plays with the one cat a lot, they chase each other up and down the stairs and wrestle with each other! She is the queen of our rats, and of us too! We now have four rats; love playing with them, buying toys for them, and watching them run around the house! They know their names (and sometimes come when called if they aren't too buzy doing other things) , know how to give my daughter good night kisses, and how to steal M & Ms! And if you were to meet them they would steal your heart too!"

"Maya and Lotte are the two rats I have currently. Rats make amazing pets and one of my favorite parts about having them is their personality. Generally they are the happiest little critters as long as you give them good food and lots of love, but they can also exhibit many other emotions as well.. I know when my rat is sad or angry and sometimes they just flat out have an attitude. Its so endearing! My rats can be bossy and of course I give in because I love them so much, but the bond that you will have with your rat is priceless.. One time one of my ferrets came into my room and made eye contact with my rat Maya.. well she was frightened and ran to me for help! I always thought that was so sweet that she recognized me as somebody good who not only gives her treats but can actually save or help her when in trouble. I really love rats and they have brought more joy into my life than I could ever imagine! And for those who say they don't like rats...I dare to ask you to look at a set of boggling eyes and tell me that that doesn't melt your cold heart!"

"I hadn't originally planned to do a testimonial myself, but last night my love for rats overcame me. I've only owned rats for a few months now, and up until last night it was just the two girls. But I decided I'd like to have some boys too, so last night I bought 3 of them. To be quite honest, the fact that I've fallen in love with the species so quickly that I've already gone out and bought more and have erected this website should speak volumes about what wonderful pets rats make. I really do love them, and I can't imagine ever being without them again! "
