| The Recycleables |

The Almighty List. These are the kinds of things that are generally accepted as being "recycleable" though it is by no means complete (what I am trying to do is focus more on the things that you can recycle around the home, so you won't see stuff like steel and cars around here [by the way, those things are recycleable too, hehe!]). Note: All ugly pictures are drawn by the Recycling Stick-Man, not by me! I repeat, not by me!!! |
| The more obvious ones: Paper - All kinds of paper, be it cardboard, tissue, lined, you name it. If it's thin and flexible, feels like paper and smells like paper, it's recycleable. Cans - can be aluminum pop or sardine kinds Bottles - see above (can be made of glass or clear plastic) Jugs - To hold milk. Why are there so many beverages here? Juice Boxes - These are soooo recycleable but why do people still throw them away?! The subtle ones: Non-Clear Plastic containers - You know, those ones with the special sign on the bottom (see right). I will rant awhile about this one. Don't be lazy! Look for the special sign! It will always be at the bottom of a recycleable container! Don't miss out on this chance!! The Special...Toilet Paper roll!!! - Despite popular belief, toilet paper rolls ARE recycleable. Heck, I would recycle the whole roll if I didn't have to use it first. Paper Lunch bags - as long as they're not too oily Envelopes - These are paper so they are recycleable! However, see what People Say.... Grocery Bags - Unfortunately, these are not recycleable (unless they were paper) but it is good practice to use them to line your garbage cans. Then, you can not only discard it, but also your garbage (but you already knew that, didn't you?) Money - But let me know first, okay? Hey, and I found a great use for... CDs - You know how AOL always sends you these trial internet packages even though you already have one? Rather than throwing them away, flip 'em upside-down and make high-tech coasters! (I know, I'm going off topic, but this is my page, so there.) Do not recycle these: Wax Paper - Why? I dunno. You just can't. Pizza Boxes - Again, things with oil.... Styrofoam - No! Aerosol Cans - and other metal cans with toxic substances in them. Those can be disposed of at a special toxic disposal waste dump near you! Plastic without the Special Recycle Sign - too much mixed plastic to be recycled efficiently Milk Cartons - oh, what a waste |
