Love's Debutante Bash.

Come what may, expect No Parking to fill the last three slots of Love's 21 roses. (Did you greet him last Wednesday? Leave some love at the CONTACT section). He'll be celebrating, gown and all, his debut tomorrow Saturday, September 8.

And how to celebrate it best than with some music from your friendly, neighborhood-disturbing band.

Watch No Parking @ QTV 11's At Your Service, this Sunday, 11am

Our concert @ FEATI university with 6 Cycle Mind a while ago had been a blast. They performed first by 5pm! So NP was like the backdoor act afterwards, along with three other local college bands.

The concert was a fundraising event by QTV 11's At Your Service for the Damas de Pilipinas orphanage. The kids were there. So cute! They all wore yellow and performed an "Itaktak Mo" dance number. I gave each of the children a high five afterwards; it made everything in our explosive performace (yes, the energy of the MMDA man from Globe leaked) so worth it.

So there catch the show. It's our first TV appearance as a band. Love wasn't around though because of an exam. I took over the bass duties.

QTV 11's At Your Service - Fundraising Concert for an orphanage
with 6 Cycle Mind

This has to be one of those perks about having most of my blockmates working at GMA 7.

Ms. Dandy Alandy, a researcher at Iza Calzado's QTV 11 show At Your Service, invited us for this concert for a cause this Wednesday, 4pm @ FEATI. Main act is 6 Cycle Mind. We're still working out details. Love has an exam at 6-8pm so I'll take his bass duties in the meantime. As for me, we better perform first as I have to fly away at 8pm. As much as fun is concerned, I still have to break my back to earn my day of leisure.

Thank you for this experience.

With the dust having settled 10 days after the Globe Kantabataan 2007 competition at Eastwood, we'd like to thank everyone who has helped us not only for the text votes but for taking the time to spread the word about us, to listen to our entry, and to shower us with love. No Parking received 504 votes from the competition.

Discounting the fact that it's a competition, it was our most ideal gig. Eastwood has always been a fancy of mine ever since we started. All of our loved ones arrived. The organizers were precise. And the crowd was warm and rowdy... and shocked and awed.

Shoutouts to my mom, my sister Dindi, my brother Yao Ming Jaran, Keina, Manager Ys, Manager-in-training Leki, Belot, Pao for the pictures (you're my man!), Leslie, Roro, Jameson, Angel, Icang, Reg, my cousin Chai, Tita Deth, and Tito Marvin. Sen and Zeal, great set too!

Again, our gratitude. It does not end here.

We hooked up with the eventual winners Sempiterna at the backstage before our respective sets. They're a great band with good heads on their shoulders. We hope they win all out. It will be a great honor to be beaten by the champion.

This is it, our last stand before tomorrow!

Today is the last day of voting for Globe Kantabataan. Cut-off is at 12nn.

I enjoin everyone who has been loving and supporting us to give one last heave, before you turn over the tides of fate to us. For the past 2 weeks, everyone of you, my family and friends (some celebrities even), has helped us overome that 40% text votes hurdle. Now the 60% is up to us. See you guys tomorrow.

VOTE KB57 to 2346, starting tomorrow, August 11

That's right. We can't wait to unleash our unlimited texting powers to inform you about this change of code. Awoo!

The Love Is Overflowiiiing!

Our numerous friends, loved ones and supporters never let us down on this. We're infiltrating so many lines over the past couple of days: Multiply (special thanks to Roro, Diane, Klara, and Keina), Friendster, Globe Unlimitxt, and most importantly, word of mouth.

As far as promotion of our band goes, we've found ourselves connecting with old friends and meeting new ones. In the process, we're even spreading our name and work like wildfire.

And as proof of this successful campaign period, here is the increase in the number of visitors on our website http://noparking.co.nr from Geocities:

aug 3 - 10
aug 4 - 13
aug 5 - 34
aug 6 - 34
aug 7 - 30
aug 8 - 24
aug 9 - 25

See you at EASTWOOD! NP on the 18th for Globe Kantabataan!

Brace yourself as NP will be performing on the 18th of August, a Saturday, at the Eastwood City Plaza for the Kantabataan Center Elimination Night of this year's Globe Kantabataan.

Heavily planned and coordinated, the event will feature all selected 26 bands from the National Capital Region. NP will be squaring off with six other bands from the Quezon City/Caloocan/Malabon/Navotas/Valenzuela/Marikina cluster. The program will commence at 3pm, with our set slated at 7:30pm.

There will also be special performances from Paramita and Radioactive Sago Project. At the end of the night, only four bands will emerge out of the pile of 26 hopefuls.

We have some tricks up our sleeve. So beloved readers, please do come.

NO PARKING to represent Quezon City, Caloocan, Navotas, Malabon, Marikina and Valenzela for Globe Kantabataan 2007!

Yesterday, a representative of Globe Telecommunications called me up to inform me that No Parking will be one of the 5 representatives of this group of cities for this year's Globe Kantabataan.

Last July 1, we submitted an original composition, Panawagan, and it had been a long wait afterwards as the deadline was bumped to July 15. Thankfully, incubation is over and Globe invited us this Saturday, August 4, to an orientation meeting and VTR shoot (!) at the Viziato Carlos bar in Marikina.

We were asked to prepare a script of the band's brief biography and a back story behind the song. I must not be tempted to produce a Maalaala Mo Kaya draft.

The elimination square-offs will commence on August 18, a Saturday. We will need all the love we can get from all of you. Tune in for more details.

Listen to the song, Panawagan.
