General Notes: VALE - JANET ROBERTSON DEARNESS
The sincere sympathy of the whole charge of St. Andrew's Townsville, and others, go out to the relatives of Janet Dearness. Janet died after months of illness on 13/12/73.
She was an inspiration to many, not only in her health, but also in her sickness.
While we were saddened by such a death at the age of 47 years, we do have many reasons to thank God for our experience of Janet's life.
Janet shared in the life of the Church in many ways, including Sunday School teaching, in which she was kindergarten Superintendant for many years, but she served best and most with her music. She took part in choirs and played the organ at South Townsville for approximately 25 years. A number of services were highlighted when Janet and Del Stevenson combined to play organ and piano. We can thank God for her service in music.
God has given a vein of humour and Janet was able, with the gift of putting words together, to bring laughter and smiles - but she also used her gifts to put words and music together for inspiration.
It would be impossible to recall all that Janet did, but we rejoice in her service and her life, praising God for her.
