You can be extremely proud of yourself and your family can be too. You can sing with the best of them and I hope that in the future American will be hearing from you!! KPS #57- Hi, John! I have been one of your fans since the show started, and just wanted to offer you some support! You may be young, but you sang great. You have your whole future ahead of you. American kept you in week after week and you were in the final six, so that is nothing to feel badly about. Remember, that in a few years you could be back and, like Barry Manilow, Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr., be laughing all the way to the bank!! Hang in there and don't let any of the criticism that some people dish out bother you. You handled everything with class! -Karen #56- Dear John, My Mom and I loved you since your audition. We absolutely loved your voice soo much, I looked forward to your performance each week. You always made me smile. I am also 16 and you are much more mature than most 16 year old guys that I have met. I was so upset when I heard about that threat and whenever my friend talks bad about you I scream at her and say that your an excellent singer hehe....I hope you continue to sing because you have a lot of fans out there. Im waiting for your debut CD, ill be the first the buy it! Thanks for making me smile each week, Im really gonna miss you on American Idol, its so boring without you :( Good Luck with everything, I know you will succeed... Your #1 fan since day 1! Nina- Staten Island, NY #55- Hi John! I just wanted to write you and say that you are a awesomely good singer. My friend Beckie (she likes Jon Peter Lewis) and I have fights on who is better. If you ask my friends what my personality is like they would say that I am obsessed with you. The week you were voted off I was depressed. I think you are cute and have firey red hot hair. On the American Idol CD the first song I turned to was your song and I was amazed of how classic your voice is. You should really record a CD. I bet the first week that CD would be out it will hit number 1 on the record charts.I think you should of stayed on American Idol because you take an old song and make it so new. We love you in Kansas! You are our American Idol! Your fan, Ashley Scott #54- i loved you from your first audition! me and my friend were like aww omg he's so cute! me and my friend cheered you on every week, and voted for you a LOT. i'm so sad that you're off, but don't stop here! you're awesome! can't wait for the idols tour! love ya john!! ~*Shaina*~ #53- Hey John! I am in love with your voice! You are the cutest guy ever and since I saw you on auditions you have been my AMERICAN IDOL! I think the way people are treating you is pathetic. I mean you have to be good to make it on American Idol and you did! FYI you were the best in the competeion and I don't watch anymore because it's nothing without the magic that you bring to it! Love and Sunshine forever and always Shaunie Love Ya John! Down here in Canada you're our AMERICAN IDOL #52-I thought you were great in American Idol. I even made a bet with my mom that you would make it into the top 6 and you did it! You are a real idol because it must have been so hard to compete with much more experienced proformers. I think that you are so cute and have the coolest hair. Your voice was flawless and you should be very proud of yourself. Keep up the great work. We love you up here in Maine. ~Kayla~ #51-Hi John !! My name is Erika and I am from Peru (south america). Every week I see with my family American idol and since I listened you in the auditions, I knew that you will be my american idol. You have an excellent voice, unique, special and very sweet. I really wish all the best for you and I am sure that you will reach all your goals and will be a great singer. Pls. remember that also in Peru as in other countries around the world "YOU ARE OUR IDOL". Your friend Erika (Peru) #50-John, the show is just not the same with out you. We would be so excited each week to see what you were going to sing and how you would try to dance.. ha!! But not the show is boring and we really miss you. You were so great and I really wanted to hear you sing.. "Wonderful Tonight" or some Dean Martin song. -Rhonda Athens, Ohio #49-Hi John I just wanted you to know that you are an awesome singer, and your my family's American idol. the only reason we watched the show was to see and hear you. so put out a CD and will buy it.. PS: You should go to prom with me!!! Love ya Lora (16) #48-Hey John, you were awesome, I really hope you get to put out a CD. My Ma & I loved listening to you sing & thought it was devilish to vote you off, hope you're future smiles down on you. -Ryan Meunier #47-You are my favourite american idol!!!!! You are incredibly amazing!! I was very touched and sad seeing you sang your last song for your grandma... *speechless YOU ARE A STAR IN UR OWN WAY! AND YOU ARE GREAT! #46-So you ended up in 6th place (or 5th runner up) in this competition. I wish you ended up as no.1! Well, you are number 1 in our hearts. You have a unique personality and a very interesting voice that I just fell in love with. A 16-year-old singer like you and your music style will attract audiences of all ages. Not only that, you could be an inspiration to others and bring "Big Band" back! I hear you have been performing live on a few talk shows. I would love to see more live performances from you, especially at the Super Bowl next year!! I am hoping for a CD of John Stevens too! -Geneva #45-Dear John, I am a 75 year old Nanny and I know how very proud your Grandmother must be of you. An American Idol, in my way of thinking, must possess qualities other than mere talent. An Idol is someone to be admired. One who has morals and a shining character. One who is not false, superficial or artificial in his or her appearence or effect. One who protects his standards....no matter what. Then! If that person has real talent, his or her choice of music and songs becomes an extention of who this person is in reality. John, You are an American Idol , pure and simple. You are a born singer. You have a beautiful voice and your performance is great. You are a gentleman and I admire your manner of dress along with your neatly groomed hair. Thank American Idol for the exposure. Look at Clay! You both are naturals. You are going to make it to the top in and of your own volition. Keep that beautiful smile and don't let anyone try to change your style. -Nanny Nell #44-Hi John! I just wanted to say that you were my favorite contestant this year on Idol, and that you should be proud of yourself! You're a great vocalist, and you kept your head up throughout the competition. The girls at University of Detroit-Mercy love you! -Lauren McAuley #43-You are an Amazing person!!! Your voice is beautiful, you are like an angel that came to earth to give us pleasure! I am from Brazil and since the show started I knew you were my American Idol. Thank you for sharing your voice with the world. Your Brazilian fan, Renata. #42-It's a tragedy that you were voted off last week from the show, but I'm very proud to see a fellow red-head make it so far. I feel that the most important thing about you, John, is not that you actually win the show, but that you went far enough that I'm certain you caused more than a few record producers in our country to sit bolt upright in bed and take notice. I think that the values and respectability that you project are all but a faded memory in today's pop music industry, and in a world where 12 year olds are being peppered full of radio hits by talentless dime-a-dozen cookie-cutter formed so-called pop stars like Usher and Justin Timberlake who do nothing but mug for the camera and spout out nasal-sounding musical filth, I feel a change for the better is long overdue. ...And before any of you reading this say to yourself, "Oh, how cute! This guy must be a senior citizen or something recanting stories about 'the good old days..." I am a 22 year old college student who loves music and plays guitar in a punk band... So there are no rocking chairs and nostalgia influencing my opinions, sorry to say. The thing is the music industry desperately needs a guy like John Stevens. Not just to offer up something different, but to demonstrate to the world of music (and the legion of 12 year olds listening every day) that you DON'T have to strip half naked, gyrate your hips against stage dancers, and sing through your nose about sex, drugs, and treating girls like so much cattle or trophies, to be adored and listened to. The time has come for a dramatic change, for the anti-popstar to rise and blaze the trail for a new, more responsible, more mature sounding pop music, before the current trend buckles under it's own weight. After all, there isn't a whole lot of road left for it to cover, I think we've pretty much bottomed out as far as televisable indecency goes, I don't believe there's a whole lot left for Janet, Britney, Justin or 50 Cent to sing about or show you on stage before they garner NC-17 ratings and you'll need to be 18 years old to rent her music video from the back rooms of video stores. Last year, Clay Aiken's rise to stardom sent shock waves throughout the industry - and to this day, traditional pop music fans still question just what the fuss is about. Clay represents the first step in a very right and much-needed direction, and John Stevens is without a doubt the next progression down the same road to which Clay provides the off-ramp. We need more of this, and as people like John garner the national attention and (hopefully) start producing records and distracting the national public from following the exploits of Usher, an admitted sex addict, or Janet, a scandal not soon to be forgotten, a new 'alternative' sound will be born, and pop music will have the potential to become the most classy, respectable, sophisticated, intellectual and universally enjoyable version of itself in decades. John, I truly believe that you are something truly special, a real gentleman, a fantastic singer, and an all-around class act. Your fans are behind you no matter what happens. We see the glimmer of something special in you, and with some more practice (and lest we forget the upcoming AI tour), more people will too. All the best from Long Island, New York my man. You've ignited the spark for the next revolution - keep it coming. -Ryan #41-Congratulations on your successful time on the American Idol show. I would have liked to see you win, but I know you will acheive every dream you have anyway. You are a wonderul and talented singer with a great heart. I watched the show every week because of you. I think you are a wonderful role model for teenagers today and hope that someday my children will be as respectful and courteous as you are. I would like to say that my American Idol is still John Stevens and I hope that your style will spark a new trend in American pop culture. I find it refreshing and unique to once again see a performer (fully dressed) in a suit, looking daper and handsome, and I am 23! Just know not all of America is into the trashy look of many of todays performers, they may have great voices too... but you are the whole package! Good job. (ps. Lets go Buffalo!) #40-John when I first saw you I knew I would be a huge fan. You are such a great singer. I grew up listening to Frank Sinatra too because my mom and my nana would always play him and also Dean Martin. I am not watching american idol anymore because you are not on there. I will always be your fan for life!!! I promise you that. Love ya, Lauren Borkowski 15 y.o. ( Buffalo NY) #39-Not only am I absolutely in love and infatuated with your voice...but you also have the looks! I am your biggest fan and will be the first in line to buy your CD! I have faith in you. I voted for you and have supported you from the beginning! I think you are great and will go so so so far in life! You are a very talented, good looking guy with a passion and talent that will move mountains! I am devastated that you got voted off...but I know that American Idol was just the beginning! Good luck with everything John and know I will always be your fan! -Holly, 16 St. Louis, MO #38-I wanted to let you know that I think you have a wonderful flavor that has not been heard in a very very long time. Reguardless of not having the AI title, you do have a sophistication that no one out there today can touch. -Kimberly #37-Hi John I am Judy I live in florida, I love your music very much, in my eyes you are the American Idol. I am very proud of you and your biggest fan. I am 58 years old. Good luck in the future, I hope you make a cd judy #36-Week after week my girlfriend and I watched and crossed our fingers that you would continue on. I strongly believed that while you have a very interesting voice and you did so well on Idol, your future lies elsewhere. When you sing the old songs you give us goose bumps, and that's quite an accomplishment because my girl friend is far too young to remember the old songs, but I remember them. You are a natural, the old masters would be some impressed and a lot nervous as they see you come up hard on the outside. I have no doubt in my mind that we will see much more of you, but in a different genre. I know nothing about the music industry and never will, but if someone doesn't approach you with a great deal of interest in signing you then I will be extremely surprised. You have the voice to rise above the pack young man. When I hear you sing I instantly think of Frank, and Dean. There are still enough of that generation around to support you with CD sales, and yet you took the song Mandy and killed with it, there are some modern songs that you adapt to very well. I wondered how come you were singing the old tunes and then last week I finally saw a picture of your grandparents, obviously they influenced you, good for them. Without someone like you the old songs would have eventually died. You know the amazing part John, I wasn't really a big fan of the old songs until now. You have a unique opportunity here John, don't let it slip through your fingers, make some calls, knock on some doors while you are still fresh in everyone's mind. Bring back the oldies, reinvent the music business once again, you have that power young man. Make us even prouder than we already are! -Peter Cunningham #35-You are an amazing performer, don't let anybody convince you otherwise. Thank you for representing Buffalo so well! You made us all very proud!! Keep doing your thing and someday I'm sure you will prove all of the critics wrong! We love you! -Kathryn #34-Unique is always awesome in my book. You were the only contestant that sounded original yet TOTALLY AWESOME! Something about your performances always just made me smile! I've already decided that you're the only idol contestant this year that I'd buy a CD of, so get one out there for me! Don't give up and stay perfect! - Leah Wright, FL P.S. As a fellow junior - GO CLASS OF 2005!! #33-I loved your style, your singing and your attitude. You showed so much more maturity than most 16 year-olds I know. I hope that all the nonsense that has happened on American Idol doesn't deter you from pursuing, what I think, could be a great singing career. I see you in the same genre as Harry Connick, Jr., and look how well he's done! I can only think that you'll get better and better as time goes on. Hang in there and prove to all of your critics just how wrong they were. You've got so much talent and so much to be proud of! Four million people can't be wrong! From, A Big Fan of Yours #32-he is so hot. i love the way that he dresses always so nice. i love the way he sings. someone snap me out of this -ROBYN #31-I have been appalled at the recent reactions of American Idol viewers. Just keep in mind that this is a TELEVISION show with alot of reactionary people watching, apparently. I though you handled yourself during the backlash with integrity and grace under pressure. I hope you hard the televised message that Michael Buble sent you. Keep up the good voice! -Sharon #30-Can't wait to purchase your first CD. My 2 year old adores you and so do I. I voted for you numerous time each week. Was very sad to see you go. Send us a photo for my 2 year old Alyssa. #29-john stevens = my american idol!!!!! You have the best voice out of anyone on the show and just because america can't accept the fact that you are talented, its ok because over 4 million people (and more) LOVE YOU!!! i voted for you over 50 times for your last performance even though it wasnt exactly your best....but i wanted to see you win american idol because you deserved it even after america unjustly attacked you!!! love, elyse #28-I watched you from the very beginning and have been a huge fan. You have a lovely voice, and I hope we will continue to see you perform. Best wishes! -Kristina #27-I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT MY FIANCEE AND I DEFINITELY THINK THAT YOU ARE AN AMERICAN IDOL, AND NOT FOR THE CRAPPY POP MUSIC OF TODAY THAT NO ONE WILL REMEMBER IN A FEW YEARS. BUT AN IDOL OF THE REAL CLASSIC MUSIC THAT PEOPLE ARE STILL SINGING. YOU HAVE AN AMAZING VOICE AND I AM POSITIVE THAT YOU WILL GO FAR. -Nicole #26-I was driving around yesterday listening to Elvis Costello, and the song "She" started to play. If you ever make an record, please consider recording this song. You and your voice would do the song justice!! My husband and I are in our late 30s and think you are terrific! Keep up the great work!! Good luck to you and I hope we see a record from you in the very near future! -Melanie #25-You are the BEST. KEEP GOING. Everyone in buffalo loves you! -Ethelyn #24-We loved your voice and style and we hope that you will get a record deal. Good luck A. #23-Get a record deal and make something out of yourself- your biggest fan -Mina #22-I just want you to know what a great person you are. I am a 28 year old woman and you have been my favorite contestant from day one on AI. You are one of the classiest people I know and you will definitely make it big one day. Hang in there, your're definitely going places! -Angela K. #21-You have done Western New York proud -- Thank You!!! You deserved to go another week. Stay strong and keep your ideals!! West Herr has done an awesome radio commercial that says it all! I have 3 children, that are around your age, and I am very proud of them.Your parents can be very proud of you!! Sincerely, Gail , Elma, NY #20-As a singer myself, I applaud your efforts, your professionalism, and your calm under fire. You have a great voice, and you are following your passion. I for one am so tired of vocal aerobics being judged as "the best". Stay on a note and see if you can hold it..quietly. Your grace under fire, and dedication to family, and friends, and love of what is solid..wins out Big Time. You get MY vote. Tony Westbrook http://tonywestbrook.iuma.com #19-Please do not let those judges bring you down! You had 4 million votes!!! That is certainly a lot of people that wanted to keep you there. I think it's kind of ironic the person that said you took the bullets like a man was the same person who was firing them at you and the same person that put you there in the first place. Did the judges ever hear of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism? Good luck to you, John. Remember those millions of votes that kept you through to the final 6! That is a remarkable accomplishment, especially for a 16 year old! You should be proud of yourself. #18-Well I think you did a great job and yes you have a different voice then the others but we could use that voice again. I'm only 36 but the voice you portray is a lost art. As for the racial remarks, I think people are just out to have something to complain about and make the U.S. think there is this conspiracy against the black population. I think people have more important issues to think about then racial comments/remarks. Myself, I'm a Matt Rogers fan, and wish he could have stuck it out farther. Good luck with your career, I hope you can make a difference some day! -Lore #17-John, I enjoyed listening to you every Tuesday night. You are sooo talented and I do hope you get your chance to show the world and get your CDs going. I am an old Lady and my Ole Man Husband also enjoyed listening to you. You were great and did a super great job. I am just so sorry that you had to take all the crude remarks but I know just like Simon said you took it all Super Great. Keep up the good work and my husband and I look forward to listening to your first CD. I do wish that you could have been our next 2004 "IDOL", but you still are in our eyes. Good luck to you in your future, I know it will be nothing but SUCCESS. ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE FANS Janice Strider #16-You're cute and adorable, and I think that you are fantastic. Love your red hair and your singing. My mom feels the same. -Kelli Jade #15-I cried last night when you were voted off. Then, I cried again this morning when I was reading different American Idol message boards. You didn't deserve all the bashing by the judges and the media. American Idol won't be the same without you!! You're a class act and I wish you much success in your life!!!!!!! My husband and I happen to like your singing!!!! Good luck. -Love, Sue #14-I can't wait to listen to your first album! Give it a year or two, John, and you're there!! Don't waste your time thinking about any other career choice. Do finish high school, though. -Frank A physician from Oregon. Age 45. #13-I love the classic sound you have! I don't agree with America's decision to let you go and I hope the best for you in the future. Keep singing kid - you've got talent - keep making your mom proud! I look forward to purchasing one of our CD's one of these days! -Kim Ostrom Seattle, Washington #12-John, keep your head up...I am one of your fans and I will wait for you to put out a album. I love your voice............ -Chris #11- My name is Tab and I am a huge fan of yours. I've liked you since the first time I saw you. You are very talented. I've always voted for you so many times. Especially on the night before you got voted off, I spent two hours of my night voting.... I lost count at 400 votes. When you got voted off, I was devastated... I was crying so much. I hope you don't give up your singing career over this. You are terrific. I will always be one of your fans. YOU ARE MY AMERICAN IDOL! Keep up the good work. -Love, Tab #10-I was very sad to see you voted off. I think you have a lot of potential, and showed real strength under criticism. Don't let anyone get you off track. Finish school...and follow your dreams. You are the best. I have no doubt that you will be successful. -Mark #9-DEAR JOHN, YOU'RE SOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME AND YOUR SUCH A GOOD SINGER!!!!!!!!!!! GO JOHN!!!!!!!!!!!! PS. MY COUSIN'S A HUGE FAN!!! -Maria #8-John you are great and a real winner to all of us!! -dale #7-YOU DID GREAT, DON'T LET THE PEOPLE BRING YOU DOWN, I AM SO PROUD OF THE WAY YOU HANDLED YOURSELF, YOU ARE EVERY PARENTS DREAM OF A PERSON!!! GOOD LUCK IN WHAT EVER YOU DO, YOU WILL SHOW AMERICA !!! #6- I just want to take time to thank you for your integrity. In watching you it allowed me to see a glimmer of hope for the future of America. Perhaps if we see more young artist as yourself it will clean up the music industry a bit. I can only image how hard it was at 16 to step onto that stage and perform in front of literally millions of viewers. I commend you for staying true to yourself and never waivering when faced with adversity. Bravo John...well done! It is so easy to see why your parents and grandparents are so very proud of you!!! I must admit that I had voted for La Toya, but this past week I did switch and vote for Diana...had to give her kudos for that performance...but that does not mean that I did not enjoy all of you..nor did it mean that I thought they were the only two that possessed talent.....I like your style and I always enjoyed Frank Sinatra myself. I think you do him proud! Hold your head up...walk tall and we will be looking for you in the future. #5- My daughter and I were both in tears when we realized that it was just you and George left up there. You and George are our favorites! You are one class act all the way! -Julie and Angela Julie's page #4-I truly love listening to you perform. You are such a rare and special person. I will miss seeing you every week and American Idol will not hold my interest without you. You absolutely melt me. Your kindness, grace, poise and respect were obvious in every performance. It is so wonderful to see a young person with so much respect and love for his family and elders. I hope that your experience with AI hasn't tarnished you or changed your dreams. Don't give up on them...go after them and you will make it...you will go so far. Good Luck in all that you do...enjoy life and don't ever change! You are an inspiration and your fans love you! Take care and God Bless you and your wonderful family. -Kim #3-You are one classy guy to be only 16 years old. Hold your head high kiddo, you're going places. -Sharon Charleston, WV #2-I know you've taken alot of flack from the media. I just want you to know that your fans are still here and we love you! -Jennifer Kansas City, Missouri #1-I am 30 with two children and I couldn't love your singing more. You are definitely the classiest kid around. -Pamela Golden, Colorado |
