About this site
This site,
Dear Guru 1
, has been developed for teachers - young and old, new or
experienced--who enjoy teaching and have an insatiable urge to learn for
professional and personal development.
Above all the objective of creating this site is to provide a free forum : a
platform for exchanging ideas and class-room experience for the benefit of all
those who enjoy teaching.
This site owes its origin to the 'teachers page' earlier a part of my personal
site. Based on the feedback received from other teachers during the ten months of existance of the "teachers' page"
I had been motivated to develop
Dear Guru 1
as a full - fledged teacher's site incorporating most of the suggestions
received from them. Hence in the new millenium year (2000), like my earlier page for teachers, I developed this site for all educators who
like to experiment with latest ideas, who wish to use IT and computer for
teaching and learning, who enjoy interacting with other academics and wish to
widen their horizon through formal, non-formal or informal means of
professional development will find this site specially useful.
This e-forum is meant to serve as a teaching resource specially as a
supplement to the static resources available elsewhere and is particularly
meant for school teachers upto +2 stage (K12).
Hence, this site provides links to selected web resources useful for classroom
teaching, project preparation, lesson planning, use of IT in teaching and
evaluation as well as research. Most of the links are for freely searchable
subject-based knowledge contents,
academic and IT related developments for teachers and latest information for
professional growth, sources for current awareness and teaching tools, relevant
books and other publications.
Happy surfing.....
