"I can't believe that bastard in the bar called me scum!" AlleyKat raged, reflecting on what had happened in the bar that evening.
"Honey, honey. Of course you're not scum. Scum would be at least two steps up from what you currently are!" Lex teased.
AlleyKat looked indignantly back at her 'friend'.
"Gee, thanks Lex! Remind me to be busy next time you need a pick me up!" AlleyKat shot back.
"What? You're a street samuri - not even a real solo but also not even a real fixer!" Lex joked back.
It has been a standing joke between the two girls for a while based on the different roles they held in the gang.
"Maybe I should tell Kern what you really think of street samuri," AlleyKat quipped back.
Lex stopped, "Em ... Let's just keep it between us girls for now!"
AlleyKat laughed as she saw worry cross Lex's face.

Lex looked at AlleyKat's almost straight face.

Lex hooked arms with AlleyKat and continued walking towards home. However, something was pulling at her senses. She caught sight of three people in front of her. She tapped lightly three times on AlleyKats arm. She felt an answering tap. AlleyKat had seen them too.
"Shit!" Lex said. "I forgot my SMG after the job, knowing my luck the cops have it."
"Nah! I picked it up for you, don't worry about it, hon!"
"Oh thanks! I felt naked with only my colt."
"You could have borrowed my katana, you know!"
The girls heard a scuffle and some muffled voices. The men seemed to back further into the darkness, hoping it would envelop them.
AlleyKat and Lex walked past, trying not to look like they were hurrying. Noone made a move from the shadows. The girls walked on and kept walking until they were at least a street away. Coming to a stop, the girls looked at each other and laughed.
"Now, they were scum..." Lex started. "Planning to pick on two nice, unarmed women on their way home from the bar..."
