Rebellion

“I’ve had it!”

Ana stormed through the apartment, gathering the few clothes she had into a black garbage bag.

“I can’t do this any more! I can’t put up with it!” Ana whispered, talking to the empty apartment.

A noise startled her and she turned, the bag falling from her hands. In the doorway, leaning against the frame was Dusk. Ana’s heart dropped.

“Can’t put up with what? What can’t you do anymore?” Dusk’s voice was enquiring but falsely so, as if he knew the answer.

“Nothing, Dusk!” Ana whimpered at the approaching Dusk. “I didn’t mean anything, I swear! Please Dusk, Noooooo!”

Her cries echoed through the room along with the stinging sound of flesh on flesh as Dusk banished the thoughts from her mind.
