| How To Survive A Nuclear Attack - Script By Louise Rivett and Nick Thomson FIRST DRAFT (Pre-Demonstration Approx. 1 minutes 30 seconds) Presenter: Hello and welcome to the simple guide of How To Survive A Nuclear Attack. I am [PRESENTERS NAME] and as you may already know, the threat of nuclear attack is greater than ever before! First of all, we must understand the threat of an attack. As you can see in this diagram [DIAGRAM OF NUCLEAR FALLOUT RADIUS in CU], if you are in this section [POINTS TO MIDDLE SECTION in CU] youre dead. If you are in this section [POINTS TO NEXT SECTION in CU] you will die a slow and painful death. But if you are in this section [POINTS TO THIRD SECTION in CU] youll be one of the lucky ones with radiation poisoning and mild mutation. Now, just before I introduce you to my assistant, here are a selection of photos so that you at home will be aware of what a nuclear attack will actually do. PRESENTER moves our attention towards a stand with a few pictures on it. PRESENTER briefly narrates what is shown in each picture always reassuring the viewer to stay calm and organised at all times during such an attack. (IDEA: Chroma-key effect, Camera 5 on image of nuclear explosion. PROBLEM POSED variety of camera angles, only Camera 2 is capable of this effect save this for the final shot of Assistant fully protected?) Presenter: And now with the help of my assistant [ASSITANTS NAME, ASSISTANT SAYS HELLO], we shall demonstrate the 3 steps in nuclear attack survival. Assistant: Yes indeed, we shall be demonstrating the Duck and Cover technique. Presenter: Thats right. So first things first ducking and covering. Presenter narrates as Assistant gets into the duck and cover position Presenter: Now that you are in this position, the second step is getting behind or beneath a table. Presenter narrates as Assistant gets behind the glass table Presenter: A glass topped table is preferable to a solid surface, as this way you can see when the attack is over and it is safe to go back to what you were doing before the attack, say reading the paper and smoking a pipe or cooking the Sunday roast. And now, the final step in Nuclear Attack Survival covering. Always be prepared for an attack by keeping a sheet at hand, it can be a bed sheet or just a dustsheet it doesnt really matter. You take the sheet, and simply cover yourself and anybody else with it. Presenter narrates as Assistant covers himself with a sheet Presenter: And those are the 3 simple steps to Nuclear Attack Survival. Thank you [ASSISTANTS NAME] and good luck to you, the viewers at home, in your very own survival! |
