The Beatles Yesterdayand Today (Released June 20th, 1966)

The Beatles YesterdayAnd Today is basically a compilation of the last two albums Help! and Rubber Soul. Some of the songs on this album would appear on "Revolver." It is said that the new cover of Yesterday and today looks like Paul is in a coffin. But in all seriousness it simply looks like a trunk, nothing more. The album cover was changed because the public thought it was morbid. Capitol records had to recall it and spent thousands  to replace them with new covers. Capitol records actually recalled the albums and pasted the new cover on them. So check your album, it just may have remnants of the original cover underneath. The Beatles were the first group to have a banned album. On the Butcher cover George is holding a beat up doll head next to Pauls. This may very well symbolize how the real Pauls head was damaged in the accident. On Pauls right arm is a pair of false teeth. Indicating the damage done to Pauls head and teeth.

A few of the songs are suggestive of a tragic car accident and the hitchhiker:
Doctor Robert: Youre a new and better man and He does all he can, Dr. Robert. (Dr. Robert tried to help The Beatles get things together after the accident, but unfortunately he couldnt get Paul back).
Drive My Car: I got no car and its breakin my heart. But I found a driver thats a start. (Pointing in the direction of the female passenger that Paul picked up shortly before they died. She had no ride to the black market where it is rumored that she was going to get an abortion. Than Paul picked her up).
Act Naturally: Ill play the part but I wont need rehearsin, all I gotta do is act naturally. (Referring to Billy playing Paul, not having time or caring much weather he got things right about Paul).
