The Life Magazine Article And Paul: Life magazine sent a group of reporters to find Paul McCartney. Press agent Derek Taylor had given the press an official statement claiming that Paul was not dead, but only in Scotland. The reporters were determined, and made they way to where Paul was located. Paul became angry that the reporters had invaded their privacy and pored a bucket of water on them. Ironically enough they were located in the Scottish town of CampbellTown. This directs in the way of William Campbell (Billy Shears). Moments after pouring water on their heads he came out to apologize. Paul offered Lindas photographs of their newborn. Paul said, (replicating the Mark Twain quote) Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. However, if I was dead, Im sure Id be the last to know.

Dorothy Bacon had an interview with Paul concerning the whole Paul is dead hoax. Paul offered many explanations for the clues. (See
Paul answers some of the clues). Someone at Apple asked what they were to do when American disc jockeys spread the rumors of Pauls untimely death. Paul said, Sounds like good publicity to me. Tell them Im not. This response took two weeks to reach the media. During  this time people bought even more Beatles albums. The magazine itself was suggestive to Pauls death. The back of the magazine cover had a car advertisement. If held up to a light Pauls head is colliding right in with the car.
