1. What is Dead News Report?

Dead News Report is a movie created, written, produced, and directed by Bill Allan.
It is inspired by the trilogy of George A. Romero. The movie is best defined as a docu-drama horror,
which means that parts of the movie are shot in a documentary style, but the action is fictional, and
set in the horror-genre.

When the movie is complete, it will be available directly from our website, as well as through various
distributors to be announced at a later date. There will be a companion to the movie - a documentary
called "Making the Dead News", which will feature behind-the-scenes footage during the making of the movie,
footage from the Pittsburgh Comicon 2003, interviews with the cast and crew of Dead News Report, and much more.

If you enjoy the genre of zombie movies, and you would like to see more of them being made,

5. What did it cost to produce Dead News Report?

First and foremost, it cost TIME.
Once that cost is paid, the rest comes down to actual costs and virtual costs.
Paying all the crew and cast, renting the equipment, funding production costs,
covering location fees, craft service and catering, and all other miscellaneous costs,
is an approximate virtual cost of $75,000.
The actual cost is still being determined, but it is much less than the virtual cost because
many of the resources were on loan from people who believed in the project, just as many of
the talents of cast and crew were given freely to make this project a reality.

6. Can I contribute to Dead News Report?

Yes, it is possible to contribute to Dead News Report in a number of ways.
If you would like to help fund the completion of the movie, and receive credit for doing so, that

If you have been approved to produce a segment for Dead News Report, you will also need to provide a list
of equipment that you intend to use. Provided that the equipment conforms to the specifications of the producer
who is overseeing your segment, than there would be no problem with using your own equipment.

9. Can I have my friends help me with segment?

Absolutely! We always suggest that you have everyone (cast or crew) sign a waiver and release form
to ensure that no legal issues come up later. Upon submission of your segment, you will need to
include copies of the releases for all of your cast and crew, along with a letter from you as
the producer of the segment that all of your crew and cast have signed releases.

12. On what channel, and in what areas will Dead News Report be aired?

There will be an edited-for-TV version of Dead News Report that will be submitted to various
cable channels around the country to be aired. The reason for this is to promote the project,
and by letting some cable stations air the edited version of the movie, we hope to support the
growth of the zombie movie genre as well as promote the sales of the Director's Cut and documentary
of Dead News Report.

We are always open to submissions to be included on our links pages. Just send us an email at:

your site. If your material is what we are looking for, we will add you to our links, and notify

14. What happens if I don't get my segment turned in on time?

If your segment is not submitted before the final cut of the movie is made, we would be happy
to include it on the documentary "Making the Dead News", or we could just offer it as a bonus
download on our website. Bottom line is that if you took the time to produce a segment, we will
make our best effort to include it or at least promote it for you.

15. If I don't have time to do a segment for Dead News Report, what are my other options?

Your other options are to join the many other supporters of the movie by promoting it as much
as you possibly can. If you have a website, add us to your links! If you have friends who have
