Chapter 20: Conner the Terrible...
After sixteen hours of being aboard the Red dragon crosair's ship known as the Laquerius, Graynar felt pretty seasick. During the time he felt sick, Gerral Vlax treated him. She was very kind, helping Graynar feel better, and serving the crew lunch and supper.
"If dwarven women were this nice, I'd eat an elf." Gunfar jested, shoving porridge down his throat.
"Smoke ahead cap'n!" yelled Boldan who was aloft.
"I see it." responded Hurokol, steering towards it. "Gunfar, get off your behind and tell me what's burning."
Gunfar got up and peered at the smoke in the distance. "Err, look's like a ship's mast caught on fire. Err-make'a that two ships. Darn, looks like a battle."
"Sea battle! Another one." said Graynar, "I don't think I can stomach another battle at sea."
"Good god!" shouted Boldan as they neared the battle. "It's the Salutamus!"
"The salootamutus?" said Gunfar.
"The Salutamus! King Vander's royal flagship!" said Boldan more clearly.
"Father!" gasped Gerral. "He's come looking for me."
Sure enough, several meters from the Laquerius's bow, was the Salutamus, engaged in battle with Dreadnought.
"Excellent! Radak's here. We can get your sword back Graynar." said Hurokol preparing to board the Dreadnought.
"Graynar?"
"Graynar disappered." said Boldan running towards Hurokol. "No time to look for him. I'm getting my revenge on Radak."
Boldan leaped over the swirling water, aboard the Dreadnought's deck. He charged into a group of Scorpian knights, flinching in the pain of his injured shoulder.
Graynar stumbled, captain Conner had snuck aboard the Laquerius, and attacked Graynar.
"Get off me!" Graynar shouted, giving Conner a face full of his fist.
"Phhhttff!" Conner spit out blood.
"You know what Radak did with your sword little knight. He melted it down into a set of tea cups." said Conner wiping the blood from his lips.
"You lie!" spat Graynar leaping onto the Scorpian captain.?
"You should have stayed in your cell! That sword was my father's!"
"Oohh, don't have a fit little one. You might get seasick." said Conner, shoving Graynar back.
Meanwhile, Hurokol and Gunfar had rushed aboard the Salutamus, to help defend king Vander, who had been stabbed by a Scorpian knight.
On the Dreadnought, Boldan was rushing up the ladder to meet Radak.
"I saw you die! Impossible!" spat Radak, dumbstruck by the sight of the living knight.
"Oh I'm alive. And I'm going to get Graynar's sword back from you." said Boldan.
"Hehe, this isn't about the seasick knight's sword, it's about you and how you killed my brother." said Radak, attacking Boldan with black katana.
Battle axe met katana. Eyes met eye. Good met evil.
"Nice of you to kill your assasins." said Boldan dodging a heavy attack by Radak.
"They were expendeble. And they were not good at their job."
"Where are the real Renvale and Wolf?" asked Boldan swinging his axe at Radak's head.
"Not telling. Who cares, you won't live to see them." said Radak dodging the attack and shoving Boldan to the ground.
"What's wrong little knght? Shoulder hurting?"
"As a matter of fact--
NO!" Shouted Boldan, taking out Radak's legs with his axe.
"Ugh!"
Meanwhile, Gerral Vlax was hiding in the Laqerius's cabin, when suddenly a Scorpian knight leaped aboard the ship.
"Hello, hello." he said, walking towards the young girl.
He might have hurt her, had he not been decapitated by Gunfar's axe.
"Just helping the little lady." blushed the dwarf, returning to the Salutamus.
Graynar hacked Conner's battle axe over and over with Flog's katana. When Conner didn't let up, Graynar kicked at him with his foot.
Graynar hit captain Conner in the shins. Conner stumbled back a bit, and fell down, with a loud thud.
Graynar stumbled towards the fallen captain, when suddenly Conner leaped up and buried his knife into Graynar's visor.
"Aaaaccckkk" Graynar gasped, clutching his eye with his hand.
"They don't call me Conner the terrible for nothing." said Conner gloating over the knight's demise.
Through the sickness in his stomach, the unbearable pain in his eye, and the anger in his heart. Graynar shoved Flog's katana straight through Conner's laughing head. The evil captain stumbled around the deck for a few seconds, his eyes went cross-eyed as he stared at the blade in his head. With a groan he fell into the waves below.
"Graynar!" Gerral cried, looking down at the knight. She ran to his aid, but it was too late.
Graynar died.
