Sunrise the next day, Hurokol, Graynar, and Boldan went down to the docks. "Well here's the crew." said Hurokol, pointing at a group of three people. "First is Gunfar, the dwarf. A very strong little guy by the way.. Second is Renovin's son, Renvale. He wanted to come to avenge his father. And last is the Wolf. Just his nickname, he's pretty goood as a sailor, so I hired him to help. He also said don't ask him questions about that hip flask of his either." said Hurokol shrugging. |

"Well this looks like a good crew." said Boldan smiling intently. Graynar was not so sure; "Pairing a dwarf with an elf is not a good idea if you ask me." "Well no one asked you!" replied Gunfar's gruff voice. "And no one asked you dwarf." replied Renvale. "Shut up the both of you!" shouted Wolf. "We haven't even left port and you are already arguing! This journy is not going to be a good one if you ask me." "No one asked you purple wolf!" grunted Gunfar again. "Now I know for sure, dwarves never learn from their mistakes." replied Renvale smugly. "What do ya mean by that pointy ears?" said Gunfar. "Enough!" shouted Graynar, going red in the face. "This argument is pointless. Let's depart for Vazanay before we kill eachother!" With that he stormed onto the ship. "If you ask me, that human's got a temper." said Gunfar smoothly.
Later
The six inhabitants of Sikaron, boarded the ship, constantly quarelling. "What's wrong with me beard, ya stupid broom haired dung faced elf!" They soon, got to work preparing the ship for her maiden voyage. Loading supplies and preparing the sails for the journey. |

"Hurokol," said Graynar, "You never told me where you got this ship." "Oh, the ship. Well I...you see...umm. Ah, it dosen't matter where I got her, it's just a brand new ship. She's called the Midnight." "Must be because she was built during da night." said Gunfar walking by with a armfull of cargo. "Midnight, what a lovely name." said Renvale, taking a swig from Wolf's hip flask. "Lovely? I didn't know elves used the word lovely." said Wolf, watching the cargo being loaded. "Elves know a lot of words sir. So lay back on insults for everyone's sake." said Boldan. "Hehe," chuckled Wolf. "Lay back on the orders kid, for your sake." with that, Wolf walked off into the cabin. "Nice guy." replied Graynar, watching the Wolf sit down and drink from his hip flask.
Within the next few minutes, the Midnight was ready to sail. The cargo had been loaded, and the mast was let go. "Prepare to set sail!" yelled Hurokol to the crew. "First stop, Howlers island Gulag. I need to talk with some one there--secret business. Then we dock at Vazanay, meet with the king there, and take one of his son's back with us."
"One of his sons?!" said Wolf. "You mean like kidnapping a prince?" "Of course not!" replied Renvale. "We are picking the prince up to be the new king of Sikaron. It's already been discussed with the high council. The Vazanay king already knows that we are coming to retrieve the human." "Hmpf! All this work for a kid we could pick off the street here. Hmpf!" said Gunfar. "You're less less intellegent than you look dwarf. There is no royalty left in Sikaron, that's why we need a royal prince from Vazanay." said Renvale.
"Well, now that that has been settled. We can depart for Howlers island Gulag!" yelled Hurokol. With his last orders, the Midnight left the Kencee docks, left the town behind, and left Sikaron.
Their journey had just begun! |
