| Reparations for Blacks I have talked about reparations with friends and I continually get the same response "Man, I agree with getting some money for the suffering of Blacks in this country". I have to question the motivation of those that would accept monetary resolve for an issue that has never been truly addressed and the suffering of millions that lived and live in this country. Unlike those that suffered under Hitler, Africans could not have others confront their tormentors. More importantly victims of Hilter didnt suffer mental degradation by losing their culture, language, religion, self respect and identity. The Jewish religion gets sympathy and protection for the holocaust. You cannot criticize the jewish religion without being Labeled "Anti-Semetic" and their struggle wasnt on American soil. Blacks are seeking justice for the centuries of suffering, murders and legalized oppression, but are told to "Get over it". Jewish groups cry out for the same and are allowed to seek out Germans and put them to death. You cannot seek justice from your oppressor nor the descendents of the oppressor because they will never willingly satisfy your hunger for justice. To struggle and die would be an honor in most cultures, but to take the soul of a people is unforgiveable (See article for more) Sleeping in the U.S Once again I am waiting for the citizens of our once great country to wake from their slumber. Is it that Presidunce Bush is so incompetent that Americans have become bored with voicing their opposition and have settled to just wait out this debacle? First, it was the Patriot act that allows citizens rights to be violated at will, then it was the Schiavo case with government intrusion, emminent domain was passed last week which allows government to seize your property if local government deems it financially viable, now we have the Supreme Court allowing for the Ten Commandments. I feel as if I am watching the last Tyson fight where I wished and prayed that he would put forth an effort to show his greatness. With all of these events occurring I find myself doing the same the American public. when government erases a right it is very difficult to regain those rights if ever. I believe in prayer and the commandments, but I also believe that these things are for the individual. individual beliefs should be practiced in private and not displayed were others feel the need to be defensive. Making others uncomfortable by displaying religious beliefs is not a right because your rights end when the rights of others are being compromised. Imagine going to court and seeing arabic writing or Buddhist paintings on the walls? Would you worry about the type of justice you would receive because of the setting? The sentiment is the same for those that are and aren't Christians when they enter public facilities. Just because you wear a size 9 shoe doesnt mean that everyone wears the same size. I think we need to look outside our personal boxes and become considerate of others that share our country Shame on U.S Now what are we going to fall for next? If someone told americans that the Canadians were selling Canada on E-Bay most would probably believe it. I have never seen such gullibility as I see growing in the "Land of the Free". Free to not care? Free to look the other way? Free to be pawns for the government? If you don't think its you then it probably is you too. Americans have fallen asleep at the wheel as the Presidunce of the United States has squandered opportunities for citizens of this great country. The lack of protection at our borders, the loss of jobs at record numbers, high costs of fuel, an increasing deficit, a war that is meant to cause enemies rather than defeat them has taken its toll. Presidunce Bush claimed that America is in Iraq because the terrorist are there (Saturday June 18th) and no one took him to task for lying once again about the campaign. If losing American lives for an illegitimate cause is acceptable to you then you arent qualified to be an American. Americans fight for honor, justice and freedom, not for spoils and deception. Jacko Michael Jackson has been found innocent of the charges of molestation, but has he learned a lesson? The King of Pops reputation was dragged through the mud during this trial and the media had their way with possible jail time scenarios. Now that Jacko has been found innocent will they let him go on with his life? I don't think that they will because they put all of their eggs in one basket hoping for a conviction. Jacko may be a wierdo but being wierd doesnt make you a molester. Those that say that they believe in our judicial system should act like it and not criticize juries or jury decisions when the outcome isnt to their liking. comparing the Jackson jury to the O.J jury was abhorent. The O.J jury heard the facts and made a decision based on those facts. Monday morning jurors need to leave decision making to those that hear all of the facts. I think Michael needs to change his method of helping children and just worry about being a good dad to his own kids. I hope that he continues to be successful in his career and maybe a new hit album will come out of all of this. Aruba The missing girl in Aruba has captured the attention of the media and they cant seem to let go. The question I have is, "Why was she drinking and why did she wander off with people she didn't know"? It is hard for me to feel sympathy for someone that should have known better. I feel sorry for her parents and family because they made to suffer for her lack of judgement. Most of all why is the media only interested in broadcasting stories that affect white females? There are thousands of women of color that are abused and missing, but you never see them pasted on your television. Is Liberal Hollywood telling us that people of color arent worth finding? I would hope that this isn't the message, but I don't think that I am mistaken. Bush I read that the jobless claims dropped by 36 thousand last week. The current administration would like for you to give them a pat on the back. Instead you should give them a shoe in their.......lies. What they are happy to tell you is that claims for benefits dropped last week. What they fail to inform you is that this more than likely means that people ran out of money that they could claim while unemployed. This has been going on for the last four years under George Bush. The fact that Americans cant find good paying jobs and many have to accept lower wages to keep their dignity and pay bills. While Americans wonder where their next meal will originate, Bush is sending your money to Iraq and Afghanistan because they need it more than we do. He is busy making jobs for them and not us, freedom for them while taking ours away. Maybe George really meant to run for Saddams job instead of Bills. He has done more to make sure people overseas and across our borders have better lives than Americans. Do you feel represented? Are you better off today than you were 5 years ago? NEXT~~~~~> |
