Border woes The Border and Immigration issues have now become the focus of the "Johnny come late" Bush Administration. What tipped Washington off? It couldn't have been the thousands of illegals running cross our borders at-will, nor could it have been the American citizen monitoring the borders because Washington refused to do the job, nor could it be the complaints from States like California, Arizona, Texas, Lousiana, Georgia and Oklahoma about illegals. Is there a solution to the problem? Washington wants to grant the illegals work visas. Hmmmm.. let's think about that one. You come here illegally and now we grant you a work visa. When will Mexico take responsibilty for its citizens? I didnt know that we were the United States of Welfare for Mexicans. Mexico sends its bloodsuckers to work in America because it believes that we owe Mexico for our occupying "Its territories". All is fair in war and Mexico lost fairly so America doesnt owe Mexico nor Mexicans a living. If Vicente Fox cannot feed his minions then he needs to stop them from multiplying. Those of us that pay taxes are tired of foreigners reaping benefits from a system that they do not contribute. Most get paid under the table and send money to Mexico so that their families can live well off of American dollars. If it were left to me I would build a great wall to border Mexico and warn Mr. Fox that all any any tresspassers will be dealt with as "Enemies of or Country" and shot within 400 yards of our border. I am quite sure that would stop him from giving survival packs to his citizens to assist with crossing our border. Mexico strips 12 Billion dollars from our economy yearly and does it offer us a "Thank you"? That 12 billion does not address the money spent on dual language brochures or signs, school systems that are being flooded with children of illegals nor hospitals that are on the brink of closure due to illegals using services and not paying for them, crimes that are committed where we have no recourse to prosecute. From my tally Mexico owes America for babysitting its unwanted citizens. The Mexico issue is more than simply someone wanting to work a job that "Some" Americans don't want and the solution is not by issuing visas . We have non-violent criminals in prisons paid for by American tax dollars that are more than able and willing to do the jobs that Illegals come across our borders to do. Let us use American sources before we look outward. Whatever happen to the "Made in America Label"? Bush Admits wrong-doing Mr. Bush admitting that he made mistakes when opting to go to war based on questionable intelligence was an hour late and a dollar short. This last ditch effort by the high-powered P.R group that the Bush Clan uses to bolster his sagging doesnt seem to be working. The White House doesnt seem to know that Americans have access to information and that most of us knew in the beginning that what the Bush Administration was trying to sell to the world didnt sound plausible. Telling the world the a Dictator who's military capabilities were decimated by your father, was still a threat to the world didnt seem credible to those that follow world affairs. Bush would have done better trying to sell the world on the reliability of a Yugo. Mr. Bush admitted wrong-doing but in typical Bush fashion took it back. He defended his decision to oust Saddam Hussein despite being wrong for going to war. That is similar to blowing up a building full of people to get rid of a car thief. Elections are under way in Iraq and the American press is consumed with the turn out. Why should Americans worry about the turn out in Iraq when less than fifty percent of Americans find it important to vote here at home? Voting is not a priority to us but our government wants Iraqi's to show up in record numbers (its the first election) to vote for its leaders. All of this from a country that tossed out votes because of hanging chads. It now hopes that another country votes and chooses leaders that represents them. What should we expect from a government that exports jobs to keep foreigners working while Americans fill unemployment lines? I hope that we will be able to survive the next 3 years of comic relief that has lost it's appeal to get laughs. The joke is on America and its lack of ability to choose a real leader The passing of Rosa parks Rosa Parks was a pioneer for America who challenged the system to prove its claims of "Equality" for all. The fact that Mrs. Parks achieved the status of Civil rights catalyst symbolizes the disparity between segments of our society and how all Americans should works to erradicate this virus of ignorance. ignorance is effortless and tthose that submerge themselves in it arent truly happy but revel in the fact that there are others that believe the same. The struggle of Blacks in this country has been purely shameful but who steps up to the plate to be responsible? Where are the tolerance programs on race relations? Where are the true Americans that know that this country was built by contributions of its citizens and not by one race? Blacks that fought against Hitler and the Nazi's where treated worse than the German prisoners they captured during the war. Many reports state that German were given more respect than the blacks by American soldiers. Ask me if I have thanked a Vet lately and I will ask you "Which Vet should I thank"? Vietnam brought no relief as many were made to post point and risk their lives as they were considered expendable. The sacrifice of these true Black Patriots to fight for a country that has never treated them as human nor equals shows character and and strength in the face of uncivilized behavior. Rosa Parks was an unwitting participant in the struggle of the Back masses in America. She didnt board public transportation with the hopes of changing society but simply wanted to sit down after a long day of work. The society that boasts freedom restricted her seating preference simply based on her race. Have we grown since the Civil rights Movement or has America learned to sweep its sick secret under the rug more efficiently? This writer tends to believe the latter as we continue to confront the same isssues today regarding race. Post office In January the postal service is raising rates again............"Surprise". Who would have thought? I hope that along with that hike in post that they choose to improve their service. When I pay for Priority mail I expect it to be a Priority and reach its destination within 2 days. My experience has been 4-6 days after I have paid extra to get it there quickly. I dont think that it will happen but when an institution is so concerned about private competition taking away business maybe it should become more competitive instead of raising rates for mediocre service.
