Making Inferences Part Two

A. He is the Hero of the Odyssey and the main focus in that epic. He
did not want to go to war, but when he pretended to be crazy the military
threw his baby in front of a plow. To save his child he snapped to
his senses and rescued his baby, therefore they knew he was sane and he had
to go to war. He is known for his brains and his Braun.
B. In the Odyssey this is about a long journey that is both external and
internal. By itself this literary term is the main idea of the story.
What the story is trying to get across to its reader.
C. He is the Hero of the Iliad and the main focus in that epic. He
did not want to die young, and he had internal conflict between being a good
warrior and giving up his life and living life to its fullest by not fighting
and living a long quiet life. He chooses to die and fight. He
is known for his heel.
D. A large narrative poem that tells of the adventures of heroes who in someway embody the values of their civilization.
E. This is the horse that Odysseus loaded the Greeks into. They offered
it as a gift of peace to the trojans when all the while they were planning
to attack once within there gates. This ended the war, and this gave
victory to the Greeks. This is where the phrase Beware of Greeks bearing
gifts came about.
F. He was the author of the Iliad and the Odyssey.
G. This is the trade route near Greece. This is the main gain that winning
the Trojan War would have had because owning the trade route meant owning
the power.
H. A faithful woman to her husband who took care of her house and home while
Odysseus tried to make it home. She dodged suitors by working on a
cloth for Odysseus burial. She would finish it and then unravel it
to buy time for his return.
I. This was a place of war between the Trojans and the Greeks. This
war was fought over trade routes and jealousy of King Menalous. His
wife was kidnapped by Paris and was having an affair with Helen.
J. A person with extraordinary attributes. They were usually classified somewhere between ordinary men and the Gods.
