Hey Cathy.

Nice exposure for GM on the Monkey Business website.

Am I way off base, or does D.M. Wells know nothing about country music?

She shows how on the outside she is, very clearly, with a question about  "C&W" music and then later with a comment that refers to us as the country & western part of the industry. C&W? Geeez I was on CHAM at the tail end of the days of "C&W", that was back 15 years ago. And calling us the C&W part of the industry? What is that? Wake up Miss Wells, COUNTRY is the single most popular form of music in the world, and is in fact an industry on it's own. But that I guess is my point.

How can a review of country music be taken seriously by someone who so very clearly doesn't know anything about it? Her comment of the lack of uptempo music on the CD vs a claim of a high energy performance was handled perfectly by GM, when he pondered if maybe she was comparing him to "Metallica" because of course, in that comparison, nothing in country music could be considered uptempo (and true country fans are glad of that). GM does a fabulous stage show, very high energy, and a whole lotta fun. The CD reflects that energy perfectly.
