The picture was taken by a fellow working with the U.S. fire analyst team in Arizona during the September 2000 fires. If he wasn't "on the job" when he took it, he could have possibly sold it for some scratch. Seems the elk aren't too concerned; guess Mother Nature takes care of her own.
