| PERCUSSION - ALL GRADES Prospective 6th grade percussionists must be approved by the director. Only EIGHT beginning percussionists will be started this year. See the 6th grade band page for details! - Vic Firth or Pro Mark stick pack. This comes with a stick bag, matched quality snare sticks, timpani mallets and three types of keyboard mallets. There are no school owned sticks/mallets available; all students are to have ALL of the required materials. - Ross Scholastic Marimba - this is a full sized instrument that is available to lease. If there are financial or space issues, please consult Mr. Forgione. Percussion Method Books 6th Grade - Standard of Excellence, Book 1 7th Grade - Alfred's Drum Method, Book 1. | SmartMusic Subscription - All classes If you are a new subscriber, log onto www.smartmusic.com and purchase an annual student subscription for $30. You will also need a SM microphone. Brass instruments, except French Horns, can usually used their computer's internal mic if you have one. If your PC/Mac has an internal mic, all other brass and percussion will work with it or any other external mic. Downloading the program takes a few minutes. Once classes are set up after school starts, I will provide directions to enrol for the online gradebook called Impact. Until I can do so, feel free to practice with the program. Good luck!! |
