I'm Chris Forgione, currently in my 10th year at Davis Drive. I am originally from New York, and relocated to Fairfax County, Virginia, where I went to high school. I received my Bachelor of Music Education from East Carolina University in 1989, and Master's Degree from UNC-Greensboro in 2004. I am National Board Certified, and am a certified teacher mentor.
I first taught at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School and Middle School, where I was the band director for 5 years. In 1995, I left teaching and worked as a police officer in Raleigh for 2 years. In 1997, I happily returned to teaching here at DDMS, where I've been ever since. My primary instrument is bass trombone. I teach private lessons and perform regularly with The North Carolina Wind Orchestra.
I am an avid runner, having run 3 marathons with a PR of 3:32:51. My latest was the Marine Corps Marathon on October 30, 2005 in Washington DC. I'm also a certified indoor cycling instructor, teaching at several gyms in the area. I live in Apex with my wife Robin, sons Gabe (3) and Jairus (born July 31). |
