This is a very special page devoted to some very special family and friends.

Julie My name is Julie.
I'm not exactly sure of my age.
In 1988, I was found on the doorstep of a local vet, just sitting and waiting. I lived at the vet for several months. Some of the attendants took me home for visits, but only for a few days at a time. The doctors think I was about a year old at that time. In July, one of the employees had a friend who brought in some rescued baby birds. She asked her friend if she would like to consider having a dog. That is when I met my new owner.
What a great day!!

TC My name is TC.
I'm not exactly sure of my age either.
I was turned in to the Humane Society by a woman who found me. Her name was Mrs. Thompson. They guessed me to be about 2 years old. I was put on display at the local community center in January 1987. I had a sign on my cage: "Thompson Cat". A young boy spotted me and I started to purr. His mom and brother came to see me. They held me and I purred even louder. I went home that day with my new family.
What a great day!!
Right now I am a little sick. The doctor tested me in February, and has told my owner that I have cancer. I have to take pills at home and go to the vet once a week for more medicine. So far, I feel fine but I do not like to ride in the car.
* Update: August 22, '98: I was just checked this week, and have good news. Biopsies were taken from my stomach and the results came back 'Normal'. My doctor was certainly surprised. However, I have developed a tumor on my face and the results of the biopsy for that came back as a 'Fibrosarcoma'. This cancer is not responsive to all the chemo I have been taking. That is not good news. :-( Right now I am eating well and seem in good spirits, but the doctor says this is a very 'aggressive growth'. The treatment is radiation, which is probably not going to be recommended because of the location, and my age. I have had a wonderful 11 years with my family, and I will miss them. My family is very distressed that I have overcome one form of cancer, only to be taken by another. I know they love me and will do the right thing when that time comes.

Lucy I am called Lucy.
I was born at a vet's in September 1986, so I know that I am 11 years old.
My mother's name was Lucy. The vet could not keep me so I was turned in to the Humane Society when I was 5 months old. I was put on display at the local community center in February 1987. I had a sign on my cage: "Lucy's Kitten". TC's family came to visit. They decided TC would be happy with a friend. I went home that day with my new family.
What a great day!!
TC and I are best friends. We groom each other, play everyday. He takes very good care of me too.

Here is a little poem that our owner wrote about us in a greeting card.
(For the PA Pet Swap '97. The card can be viewed on Page 4 of My PA Layout Samples Page)
Big brown eyes and a shiney black nose.
A coat of tan with white as a bib.
A curled up tail and a heart of gold.

A joy to love. All orange with stripes,
a motor that purrs and paws that kneed.
Such a sweethearted package of soft fur to hold.

Small in size, all black and white.
A bit of a fidget but with the cutest pink nose.
Love is displayed in so many ways.

The love of my pets can not be described.
The pleasures they give can not be surpassed.
Words alone can not express
the comfort they give nor the feelings we share.

I wish I could give them just half in return.
They ask so little and give so much.
My best friends,
unconditionally consistent,
loyal and true.
Julie, TC and Lucy too.
