After making her
way off the plane, Elizabeth went to the luggage belt and got off her one
suitcase. She planned only to stay a few days, she needed just to get away
from Thomas long enough for him to take the hint that she didn't want him
back.
She walked out of the crowded Ohio
airport and got into the nearest cab and gave the cabbie the address of the
hotel Anna had told her the guys were staying at.
Elizabeth paid the cab driver ten dollars
then got out and watched the cab drive away. She took a deep breath then
went inside the hotel. It was crowded, it didn't look like she could get
a room.
Half an hour later after finally getting
up to the front of the line, she was told by one of the receptionists that
there was one room left.
“Yeah I'll take it. It doesn't matter
how many beds or how much it costs,” she told the lady.
The lady took Elizabeth's credit card
and punched it through. As Elizabeth was punching the numbers in the pad,
she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around after pressing the last
button to see Chris standing there.
“Look whose here!” he said, trying
his best to hide his voice. He had a baseball hat and a pair of tinted sunglasses
on to keep from people noticing him.
“Hey...George,” she said. That was
the best name she could come up with.
Chris snorted, he didn't want to be
called George.
“Elizabeth, what are you doing here?”
he asked, leading her down to the hall as she searched for her room.
“Anna got me a ticket. There's some
things I need to get away from,” Elizabeth replied as she stuck the key in
the hole, and opened the door.
“Anything wrong?”
She didn't say anything. She walked
in the room and Chris followed her, he could tell something was wrong. Elizabeth
turned around to face Chris. “There's something I need to talk to Justin
about, do you know where he is?”
“Yeah, he's sharing a room with JC.
I think they went out for some lunch,” Chris said sitting on the double bed.
“Why don't you tell me what's up and why you look so upset?”
She sighed then sat on the floor and
covered her eyes with her hands and groaned. She looked up to face Chris
again. “My ex boyfriend Thomas is back there. He and his wife divorced and
he won't leave me alone.”
“I take it something happened besides
the fact that he won't leave you alone?”
“He kissed me!” she blurted out in
anger. She stood up and started to pace the room, her hands clenched into
fists. “He thinks that in time I will realize that I love him still. But
I can’t stand him. He drives me crazy!”
By that time Chris had gotten up from
the bed and put his arms around her and she started to cry in his chest.
“Shh it's okay,” he said as he pulled some hair from her face. “So this guy
wants you back?”
Elizabeth pulled away from him and
nodded. “He won't leave me alone until I go back with him. He's impossible!”
“I don't want to sound rude or anything
but maybe you still have feelings for him,” Chris said.
Shock appeared on her face. “I don't!”
Chris continued to stare at her knowing she could be lying to herself. “I
don't know, I mean when he broke up with me for her, I hated him.”
“And now?”
“I don't know.” Elizabeth sighed. “What
if I do? It’ll hurt Justin.”
“Think about it.”
He placed a kiss on her cheek then
left the room, leaving her to think. She had so much thinking to do. She
had never thought about the fact that maybe she did have feelings for Thomas
still, unresolved ones.
She laid on the bed and put her face
in the pillow.
---Later That Day---
“Chris, man you okay?” Justin asked
as the five guys sat in the hotel room watching a movie.
“Huh what?” Chris finally looked up.
He had been staring into space wondering what decisions Elizabeth had made.
He was worried that Justin would be hurt in this process but he knew how
much she cared about him. How much she loved him.
“He asked if you’re okay,” JC said.
“Oh yeah, I'm fine,” Chris replied,
turning his head to the screen.
“What's wrong, man?” Justin asked.
“I know something is, you've been down all night.”
“It's nothing.” Chris turned to the
screen hoping the guys would forget about it, they did, for now.
Elizabeth was up walking around the
hotel around midnight when she saw Justin's figure. She smiled at the thought
of seeing him again. She had missed him so much, but she still couldn't figure
out if she had feelings for Thomas or not. She knew in truth she would have
to go back to Orlando to figure that out.
She started to turn away when she slipped
on the wet floor.
Justin turned his head when he heard
the noise. He saw a girl but didn't know it was Elizabeth, he still had no
idea she was even in Ohio.
“Are you okay?” he asked, extending
his hand to her. It was dark so right away he couldn't see her face.
“Yeah, I'm fine,” Elizabeth replied,
turning her head so he wouldn't see her, but he did. It showed when a huge
smile crept over his face. She got up and tried to walk away but he grabbed
her hand.
“Elizabeth, what are you doing here?”
he asked, his smile not leaving his face. He pulled her into a tight hug.
“I came to see you.” She gave a fake
smile as her arms wrapped around him, then she pulled away. “How've you been?”
“Good.” He smiled. “Even better now
that you're here. How long you here for?”
“Just tonight.” She had made one choice
that day. She would only stay the night then go back and try to figure out
somehow her true feelings.
He frowned a little. “You’re leaving
in the morning?”
“Yeah, my flights at 11. Maybe we can
have breakfast in the morning if you're not busy.”
“I wish I could but we have rehearsals
at 8,” he said sadly. “Too bad I would have loved to spend time with you.”
“We have now,” she said, as he locked
their fingers together.
He smiled. “That we do.” He took her
hand. “Wanna go grab a cup of coffee or something?”
She smiled. “Sure.”
Justin led her to the restaurant in
the hotel and they both sat down and ordered a cup of coffee. After the waitress
left, he turned to her.
“I've missed you so much.” He started
to rub his fingers on her hand.
“I've missed you too.” She watched
as his finger massaged her hand. That was one of the many things she loved
about him, how he treated her. He wasn't like the others, especially Thomas.
That's why she thought how sure she was she didn't love Thomas anymore.
A few minutes later they're coffee
came but the conversation between them continued as they drank down the hot
beverage. On their way out, Justin led her back to her hotel room.
He wanted so badly to come in with
her and spend the night with her. Just holding her was all he needed, but
God he needed it.
“Stop by in the morning before you
go if you can,” she said as she unlocked the door.
“Can I come in?” He hoped he didn't
sound too desperate, but he knew he was.
She hesitated. “I don’t know…”
“Please? I need more time with you,”
he pleaded taking her hand in his and followed her inside.
She smiled. “That doesn't sound too
bad.” She wrapped her arms around him after closing the door.
That night she let him hold her, it
was one of the best nights she ever had. The guy didn't want sex, he just
wanted to be with her, she had never experienced that before.
And for the first time in a very long
time, she felt content. She felt loved.
