She only stayed at Joey's house for a few days. It had
been two months since the break up. She hadn't forgotten it but as they say
time was helping her heal.
She'd only spoken to Justin a couple of times. Justin and Claire were still
together. They were having a major problem but Justin didn't tell anyone
because he didn't want to hear ‘I told you so’ from Chris or anyone else.
When he told Chris he broke up with Dasia, Chris freaked. He knew Justin
didn't really want to be with Claire, and believed the only reason he was
getting back with her was out of guilt. Paul had just dumped Claire and now
she needed someone else to toy with so she played on Justin's guilt on cheating
on her.
Dasia moped around for weeks. Kristi shook her out of it and told her to
get back out into the dating world.
Dasia had six dates a week, sometimes more than one guy a day. It never meant
anything to her though. She only did it to pretend she was over Justin.
Kristi and JC moved into their own house, leaving Dasia by herself. She loved
having Kristi there but she also liked the alone time. It didn't last too
long because Tiffany came into town for Spring Break and was staying with
her.
Justin called Dasia non stop until she finally talked to him. He wanted them
to continue their friendship. It was hard on everyone because they never
went out as a total group, so they wouldn't hurt Justin's feelings for going
out with Dasia, or vice-versa.
In order to be fair to everyone else, Dasia and Justin resolved their differences.
Joey, Dasia, Tiffany, Chris, Kristi, Lance, JC, and Justin went to dinner
and a club. Claire was gone on vacation with a couple of friends in the Bahama's
and couldn't go with Justin.
“Let's do some karaoke!” Kristi said.
“Oh God no,” Dasia replied.
“Come on, it'll be fun. We can do country and you can even be the lead singer
again,” Tiffany said.
“Me sing country?”
“You know you love it. Let's go. I'll pick the song.”
“Okay, but Kristi can pick the song this time since you picked last time.”
“I only know three good country songs,” Kristi said.
“Good, now go and pick the best one,” Dasia ordered.
The club owner introduced them and the girls took their spots on the stage.
“So what did you pick?” Tiffany asked.
“Dixie Chicks.”
Should've been different
But it wasn't different was it
Same old story and Dear John was so long
It should've fit like a glove
It should've fit like a ring
Like a diamond ring
A token of her true love
Should've all worked out but it didn't
She should be here now but she isn't
(Chorus)
There's your trouble
There's your trouble
You keep seeing double with the wrong one
And you can see I love you
You can see she doesn't
But you just keep a holdin' on
There's your trouble
So now you're thinkin' bout all your missing
How deep your sinkin' around and round and draggin' down
Why don' you cash in your chips
WHy don't you call it a loss
Not such a big loss
Chalk it up
Better luck
Could've been true love but it wasn't
It should al add up but it doesn't.
(Repeat Chorus 3 times)
There's Your Trouble By Dixie Chicks
Dasia looked Justin in the eyes as she sang. Even though she hadn't picked
it, the song had meaning and Justin knew it.
‘It's all true,’ he said to himself. ‘Dasia loves me and I blew it. Claire
is all wrong for me but I keep holding on.’ He shook his head to try and
clear his thoughts. Suddenly he wished he hadn't come and wanted to leave.
Hoping nobody would notice, he slipped out the door. He wasn't slick enough
because Joey saw him and ran after him.
