A few weeks passed since Justin and Elizabeth shared their first kiss. Everyone around them thought they were still just friends, but their feelings for each other were turning deeper into love. The last week she had taken him to a basketball game, and he had shown her his groups music.

Elizabeth didn't spend too much time at Anna's. She was either at the hospital saving lives, or with Justin. They had so much in common, it wasn’t hard for them to find something to do together.

Anna and JC's plan to get Justin and Elizabeth together seemed to be working, but something was still bothering Elizabeth, and that was Meg. She felt now more than ever that she should tell Justin what happened, but left it alone.

Her shift was almost over at the hospital and Elizabeth couldn't be happier, as she made her way to the lounge to change into her normal clothes. Today she had seen so many different cases, but the young girl that had died in her arms was the worst. The girl had been in her early twenties and had been beat with a baseball bat by her boyfriend because she refused to make him dinner.

        “Hey doc.”

Elizabeth turned around as she fastened up her blue jacket. She immediately smiled when she saw who was standing in the doorway. “What are you doing here?” she asked.

Justin stepped inside the lounge and grinned. “Well, I came to pick you up and take you to dinner.”

“Well,” she said as she walked over to him. “I don't know, should I let you?”

        “Well, yeah.”

“Hmm.” Elizabeth walked out of the lounge, Justin following, and walked outside and stood underneath the waterproof cover. “You know I haven't eaten since this morning, so for that reason I'll let you take me out to dinner.”

“Oh gee thanks,” Justin said sarcastically, taking her arm underneath his as he led her to where his car was parked.

“How about I meet you there since my car is here and I can't leave it here?” she said letting go slowly of her arm then tucking her hand in her jacket pocket.

“Okay sounds good. What do you feel like tonight?” he asked, taking his car keys from his pocket.

“I haven't had pizza for a while,” she said.

Justin opened his car door. “Then how about we meet at the pizza place by my house? Do you know where it is?”

Elizabeth nodded. “I'll meet you there.” She started to walk in the other direction to her car when Justin grabbed her arm, pulling her back to him.

He smiled at her for a few moments then he kissed her. “I couldn't just let you leave without a kiss,” he said.

        "Great, now I can drive.”

        “Me too.”

He watched Elizabeth walk to her car, then he got in his car. He followed behind her out of the parking lot and onto the road.

Justin walked with her up to the doorway.

        “Thanks for dinner,” Elizabeth said.

“You're very welcome.” Justin leaned over and was about to kiss her when she moved away from him. “What's wrong?” he asked. She had never stopped him before when he was about to kiss her.

        “Meg?” Elizabeth said.

Justin caught Elizabeth's gaze, then turned around to where she was looking. There stood Meg on a few steps before the ones they were standing on.

“What are you doing here?” he demanded.

“I really need to talk to you Justin, it's important,” Meg said taking a step closer to them.

“Well as you can see I'm busy right now,” Justin said.

“Please it's really important,” Meg pleaded.

“Maybe some other time,” he mumbled.

Elizabeth knew that if her and Justin didn't talk now, something bad could happen. As much as she didn't want him to go, she knew what she had to do.

“It looks important, you should go with her,” Elizabeth said.

Justin turned and looked at her. “What?” he asked, surprised.

Meg smiled at Elizabeth. “Thanks Elizabeth.”

“You two have met?” This wasn’t good.

“I saw her at the hospital. We talked,” Meg explained, purposely not mentioning about why she was there.

“Just get to the point,” he snapped.

Meg went up on the step that they were on. “I need to talk to you alone.”

He looked over at Elizabeth, who looked okay with this. “I'll call you in the morning before I come to pick you up,” he told her. He didn’t want to leave, but he knew Meg wouldn’t let this go until he agreed to talk to her.

“Right to go sailing,” Elizabeth said.

Justin gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. “Yeah. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

He gave her one more smile before he got into his car with Meg. Then they were driving out of Anna’s driveway. Elizabeth knew who it was the moment she heard the front door open from behind her.

“There you are Elizabeth! I have dinner all ready,” Anna said helping her inside, then shutting the door.

She bent down to take her shoes off, then took off her coat and hung it up in the closet. “I already ate.”

        “At the hospital?” Anna asked.

“Yeah.” Elizabeth paused. she had this bad feeling something was going to happen tonight, but she didn't know what it was. “Yeah I got something to eat at the hospital,” she said.

Anna could tell that something was wrong, so she helped Elizabeth to the couch, and they both sat down. “Are you alright? You sound a little on edge.”

“I just lost my first patient today,” she replied. That was partly true, but the other part was she was worrying that Justin might still want Meg back. And she was scared that if she told him she wanted him back, that he would go back to her without one thought towards her.

        “Oh, I’m sorry. What happened?”

“Sexual abuse from her boyfriend,” Elizabeth said quietly.

“You should get some sleep. You've been on your feet for almost twenty hours,” Anna said helping Elizabeth off the couch.

“I am tired.” She hugged Anna. “See you in the morning,” she said, looking over her shoulder as she walked down the hall to her room.

“How about we go to the lake just the two of us tomorrow?” Anna asked, just as Elizabeth reached the door to her bedroom.

“I wish I could but I already have plans.”

        “Oh?” Anna smirked. “With who?”

“A friend.” Elizabeth shut the door, without waiting for the look that she knew Anna had on her face.

        That’s if he shows up.

“Oh my gosh, our plan is working out better then I thought,” Anna said quietly, knowing it was Justin she was spending the day with tomorrow.

This was really turning out better than she’d expected. The two of them were becoming inseparable.
