   This is a follow-up to my "Roleplaying" post. I noticed the few posts about how to properly show your character's emotion. Well, Here's the thing. Emotion is a complicated subject, and (if to be handled well) must be treated very delicately. The most important rule, however, is that the expression of the emotion depends on the personality of your character.

   Take for instance, two of my characters (Dukati and SKorpion). Keep in mind that Dukati is a dedicated and serious person, whereas SKorpion is a free-spirited, arrogant, egotistical loud-mouth.

Example One, Happiness.

   Dukati has twarted off a large band of thieves from the palace. Due to his tendacy to be dedicated to the job, this makes him happy. He would say this.

   Dukati: Bout time.

   SKorpion just got done getting a new electra from the Ogre caves. He goes back home to gloat. This is how he's happy.

SKorpion: Heck yea! Lookies what I got folks!

Example Two, Anger.

   Dukati is constantly pushed around by his inferiors, which makes him furious. He hates it when anyone underines his authority. What does he do?

Dukati: You better back off, or I'll have you demoted.

   SKorpion gets severly whipped in the arena. He hates being embarrased and doesn't like losing at all. His reaction is blunt and to the point.

  SKorpion: Ok, bud, time to tear ya apart!

  SKorpion: *draws blade* Time ta open a can o' whup... =P

   Dukati, despite his emotions, remains a professional. SKorpion, however, is straight with his emotion. It all depends on how your character acts.

   For those of you posting on the Chronicles of the Winds board, keep in mind its a "posting tablet," not a "1 liner debate hall." If you have arguments or small points to make, make them in person (the RP value is very high in those instances, trust me). CotW battles just don't interest people. Be innovate. Be original. Post pieces of a story or parts of your own history, but don't take someone on. You want to bite someone's head off? Take it to the Community board or to personal means.
