The most prevelant system of justice seen in todays Kingdom is a court system, most of the judges having been elected by the general populace. There is a chief justice, Iudicium, who is elected by the gods, everyone under him is pretty much elected by the people.
A new player often thinks he/she can pretty much do what he/she wants, steal from people, swear, get others killed, but they swiftly find out this is not so.
In the northwest corner of Buya is the justice board. On this board are posted the complaints of the populace from which the Judges get most of the cases they work.
Once a Judge decides to take a case, he researches it, and if he finds it valid, the defendant and the complainant are brought to court, with their witnesses, if any, and their screenshots, if any, and any other valid information they may have.
A jury is selected, the judge calls out in a voice that reaches all of the kingdom that he/she needs jurors, and soon the trial is underway. Should the jury find the defendant guilty, the punishment ranges from having to pay someone back, to instant jailing and a mark on their legend, and posting their name on the scum boards.
Now, as with any justice system, Nexon's is not perfect, however, since it is generally a jury of your peers that judges you, it is usually close. Sometimes a judge judges you on the spot without a jury, but I don't hear of that happening too often.
