Rotorua and Area:
North Island, New Zealand

Part One
Mount Ruapehu, one of the central volcanic mountains of the north Island, and another spot made famous by the LOTR movies.  We passed by it on our way to Rotorua, and had to take the picture that we saw on all the tourist brochures.  Sheep and mountains.
Rotorua is a center for NZ's Maori culture.  Their national rugby team, the All Blacks, perform a version of the Maori war dance, called the Haka, before each game, to get the adrenaline pumping.  Muscles are flexed, toungues are stuck way out, chests are slapped and eyes are bugged out.  If humans could erupt, this is what it would look like.:)
And the tourist picture.
Rotorua is also and area of thermal and volcanic activity.  Geysers, bubbling mud, hot springs and beautiful pumice-filtered water cover the whole region, bringing the surroundings to life.
In Canada this sign might say "Thin Ice"
