The Trans-Siberian Railway
From Beijing, China, through Mongolia,
and across Russia to Moscow
The Gobi slowly becomes the Mongolian steppe grasslands, dotted with the traditional mongolian tent homes, ger.  Many mongolians still live the nomadic life of their ancestors.
After the Mongolian capital, Ulaan Bataar, the grasslands give way to Russian forests, as the ger become russian style log cabins.  The lake in the background here is Baikal, the worlds deepest lake.
Hey look!  Russians!  They even look russian!  As we couldn't get off the train at this stop, the enterprising kids here were buying beer and selling it to passengers at a "special" price.
Dave took pictures of each of the 6 sunsets along the way.  This was the last.  A beautiful end to a very memorable trip.
Arrival in Moscow.  Only 5 days remaining on our russian transit visas!  We had to make tracks for Finland!  We couldn't miss the Russian sights though!
