| On the first day we passed 4 more sections of the great wall as we left China. We arrived at the Mongolian border around midnight. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| As the track gauge changes, the train cars were individually hoisted up by hydraulic lifts as the Chinese wheels were rolled away and Mongolian/ Russian wheels were rolled in. We were in the car for the whole 45 minute procedure | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| We slept after the border control procedures and woke up in the Gobi desert! It felt like the moon, with hundreds of kilometres between settlements. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
