Our annual adventure in the Fall of 2003 presented us with a long road trip from Chicago, IL to Windrock,TN to the Coal Creek OHV area. This is around 1200 miles round trip from Chicago while stopping in Attica, IN to pick up and drop off the my XJ. Bill and Marc Grobe once again made the journey with me as we met Mitch and Matt Gibson, Neal Hoover, Mike Strawbridge and son, Adam O, and everyone else that came down for the fun. The Coal Creek OHV area was huge and we only were able to see a small part of the land available to ride. The scenes were breathtaking for a flatlander like myself. I really hope I can take an etire week in the next couple of years to see the whole park. I have attached some pictures from the 2 days that I spent off road. Thanks to Marc and Bill Grobe for supplying the pictures on this page.

Below are pictures from the 2nd day, Saturday, which was my last day of wheelin'. After meeting up in the parking lot we headed up to a very nice trail with some nice rocks and a very difficult climb. Neal ended up rolling on his side which necessitated a small rescue operation. We got him rubber side down, but he ended with a lot of damage to the passneger side A pillar and eventually had to replace the entire roof on his XJ. |
