| Richie is a street wise orphan who learned to live anyway possible. That is until Mac found him and showed him a better life. After an "accident" Richie was killed and became an immortal. Mac taught Richie how to play the "game". He is Richie's mentor. |

| Dawson belongs to a secret society of watchers. Their job is to observe and chronicle the lives of immortals but they are never to interfere. Each watcher is assigned to an immortal. Joe is assigned to Duncan, but in his time with Duncan he has befriended him which is a strict violation of one the rules in the watchers society. |
