WHERE WE LIVE: Alexandria, VA U.S.A.

Well, finally after some debate, and reservations, We finally decided to take the plunge and move in together! I have to say that so far, its been GREAT!!! We love our new place and were getting along wonderfully! Ronnie is new to the area, and so far, he LOVES it here! =o)

Here are some pictures I took from our new apartment we just moved into on June 2nd, 2001. We live in a great community, located in awsome Alexandria, VA called Southern Towers. We live on the 14th floor of the Stratford Building. We have a 2 BR with a HUGE balcony wich we spend ALOT of time ( and money) on! Below are some pictures of the view from our balcony. We face East/Southeast. The one Bad thing about our view is that the Washington Monument, as well as the U.S. Capitol are both directly behind the building you see in the center of the picture. That building is also one of the 5 that make up Southern Towers. It is the Ashlawn. However, It is the ONLY building obstructing our view.

From our balcony we have a 180degree view that stretches from Rosslyn, VA all they way down past Old Town Alexandria to Fort Belvoir and beyond. The Freeway that you see in the pictures is Interstate 395, AKA, the Shirley Highway.Other places that are in the distance are Washington National Airport, Bolling Air Force Base, the Potomac River, and most of Southeast, and Southwest Washington D.C. as well as a good portionof Northwest, including Georgetown. Off on the very furthest horizon, we can also see upper Northwest DC including the Tenley Town/ American University, and National Cathedral areas, as well as, downtown Silver Spring MD, Andrews Air Force Base, MD, Oxon Hill MD, as well as part of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge wich crosses the Potomac bwtween Oxon Hill, MD, and Alexandria, VA.

Well, these are all the new photos I have for now. I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoy these views from our balcony! Keep checking back as I eventually hope to have some panoramic photos of the views as well!

Below are some pictures of the area in wich we live. These pictures are of Arlington, VA. As soon as I can find or take some good pictures of Alexandria I will add those to the site as well. Technically, We live in Alexandria, VA. However, We live pretty much RIGHT on the city limit. Arlington is one 2 blocks down, and Fairfax County is 2 blocks over from our complex. So these pictures are basically still accurate. If I had to name the area that I live in, I guess I would have to say Baileys Crossroads, because that is pretty much the closest. Our complex makes up the Southern/ Eastern end of the string of Hi-rise buildings that make up the Baileys Crossroads area. Baileys Crossroads is where Fairfax County, Arlington Coutny, and the City of Alexandria all meet. Well, I hope you enjoy these as well. Keep checking back for new pictures.

An older photo of the Rosslyn skyline as seen from Washington D.C. . One of Arlington's many "cities".

The 300 foot U.S.A. Today/ Gannet Twin Towers in downtown Rosslyn.

The Iwo Jima U.S. Marine memorial on a hot summer evening.

The 4th of July fireworks as seen from Arlington, VA on the western banks of the Potomac River.
