Jalum: A Stalwart Warrior of Namek.
Short Bio:
Jalum is a polite and honorable Namekian warrior. He was raised
as any average Namek, learning the strange and wonderful powers
that all Nameks possess. Jalum's goal is merely betterment,
whether it be of himself, society, or others. He is not
easily offended, even by obscenities and insults.
Background:
Since his birth Jalum has shown potential. He practices his
attacks constantly, especially his most powerful, Special
Beam Cannon, which he fires only on his most worthy opponents.
When he's not training he usually likes calming, non-stressful
jobs, such as gardening, and construction. He is an avid
athlete also, participating in swimming, running and sports
on Namek. His position in Namekian soccer is Goaltender, which
he is considered to be incredibly talented at. His record
with the recreational league that he plays with averages about
20 saves for every one score. His team is known as the Guru
Gladiators, and they too have a winning record almost every
season.
He always tries to follow the motto of the old legend told by
Nameks, known as the Tale of Ocarina...
"Once in a land far away, and long ago, lived a warrior known
as Ocarina. He was a strong fighter, and overtook any problems
that his village faced.
When the river dried up Ocarina took
thirty barrels to the nearest village, which was one thousand
miles away. When he made it there he made sure all the barrels
were filled to the brim, and carried them back to his village
to last until the next rain came.
When a great beast attacked the children, Ocarina went out
to find the beast's layer. He found it asleep in its den. He
thought it too dishonorable to kill it while it slept, so he waited
outside for it to wake, and when it did come out to attack him,
he slew it with his bare hands.
Every feat he achieved made the people of his village
rely on him more and more. And he loved being needed, for it was
no problem for him to do the good deeds and he enjoyed it. But one
day, one miserable rainy day, He got word that his grandfather
that lived far away in a distant land was ill, and needed aid.
Feeling driven to help his family he departed from the village
that relied on him. The journey was long, but he eventually made
it to his grandfather's abode. His stay there was long, but as
time passed his grandfather got better. And in a months time he left
back to his village. The long journey took another month in itself.
So as he reached the village, from where he had been gone for three
long months he found it barren, the people dead. They had relied on
him perhaps too much. For now the river had gone dry again, and they
had all died of thirst. Without Ocarina there to save them they
were helpless.
Ocarina learned to never let anyone rely on him so much, if
he could not comit himself to them fully."
