If you're completely new to DragonBall Z.

So you're new to the DragonBall Series? A brief explanation should help you during your stay here. DragonBall is an anime series where good is pitted against evil. Vague, isn't it? A character's strength is determined by powerlevel. The higher the better. Although powerlevel is a great influence in battle, dexterity is also needed to combat successfully. In the time it takes for your punch to reach the enemy, if you're too slow then the enemy will already be behind you bashing your head into a pulp. In addition to the traditional martial arts sped up two hundred times with flying, you can use ki attacks. Ki attacks use ki, or energy, to send an energetic beam, sphere, disc, etc., at the opponent. If you are worn out of energy, it's given that you won't be using ki attacks.

Choosing your race.

Choosing your races is very important. Each race has its advantages and disadvantage. Humans have heart, which boosts powerlevel if you go below a certain health level. Because of this, it's good for Humans to train constitution, as well as Nameks, to improve their health regeneration. Saiyans have Super Saiya-Jin 4, the strongest powerlevel multiplier on the MUD, but they gain powerlevel the slowest of all the races. Halfbreed gains the quickest, but they don't have Super Saiya-Jin 4. If you want to learn more, the best thing to do is explore or ask others about the races.

From the beginning.

If you are new to MUDs, and you've made a character, you probably feel lost. What do you do? Type help. Help has a basic list of commands that you use. Directional commands, combat commands, et cetera. When you enter each room, you see a few things: the name of the room, the room description, the exits from the room, mobs and objects, and possibly other things (those who are wondering what in the world a mob is, it's a non-personal computer, or computer generated person that you can fight and sometimes talk to). Getting started is decently easy. First, you're going to want to turn automatic corpse looting and automatic corpse sacrifice on. Type in config +autosac and config +autoloot. Then go north, up, up and east. Be sure to read the room descriptions as you go; they will be important to future gameplay on this MUD. After you type in those directions, which, by the way, can be abbreviated with n, e, s, w, d, u, etc., there should be an android. Just to be safe, type wimpy 20. This means, if you ever hit 20 or below, you will automatically attempt to flee. Now that you're ready, type kill android. Sit back and relax, the fighting is automatic until you get ki attacks and kick and/or punch. You gain pl every time you hit the android, and you should continue to kill him until you gain no pl at all. Then head back west, and up. I'm sure if you can read the description, you'll know what to do from there.

Tactics and notes.

Many things to note here. In beginning your quest for power, you need to learn basics about combat. As mentioned before, wimpy is a good thing to have. It is not vital to your survival, but it's very helpful when you start out. When you get to the Center of the Universe (after the android etc.), choose to go either up or down. You go up if you wish to be good, down if you wish to be evil. However, at the beginning, changing alignment takes alot of time and often doesn't start to change untill you're far past 100k. You should always kill the first level of fighters until you gain no more powerlevel, then you move up (or down) to the next level of fighters. For example, you will want to kill newbie fighters until approximately 1,000(1k) powerlevel and then move on to fighters. Have patience, power gain is slow at first. Always be aware, because wimpy does not work 100% (it works 100% actually, but you don't have a 100% chance of fleeing).
Also, it's wise to train your stats/attributes ie.: strength, dexterity, etc. If you take note of the room Lower (or Upper) Section, down or up from Center of the Universe, you head north until you reach the Training Complex. From there, go east. You will see a trainer "doing pushups". You can train your stats here. Often it is best to train intelligence first, but you can always ask on the newbie line (newbie ) what stat should be trained for your specific race. After you use your trains, which you start out with four of, you go back and continue your killing.
When you get to 5k pl, you lose your in-training rank and can now freely use channels. You also gain the ability to learn two skills: kick and punch. Go to the Training Complex, but instead of going east, go north. There you can type practice kick, practice punch (for Androids it's upgrade kick, upgrade punch). You may choose not to use either skill. To use this in combat, for example, if you are fighting a fighter, simply type kick and it will kick (and often miss at low levels of skill. Missing also depends on the powerlevel difference).

Sparring.

When you reach 5k pl, you also gain the ability to spar, or combat others without a threat of death. To do this, simply announce on the war channel (war ) that you need a sparring partner and your powerlevel is so and so. Sparring partners are not always available. Then, if you find a partner, from either Upper Section or Lower Section, depending on which sparring arena you decide to meet, go south and all the way east. Type spar , person being whoever you want to spar. You may use kick, punch, and any attack in sparring. Once the sparring is over, you must go to the Sick Bay. Down from Lower Section, or up from Upper Section. There you until you are at 100 health, as well as your partner. Then you may return and spar again.
