Leaving one school to take over the coaching duties at league can be difficult. The former team experiences a loss, while the new team may feel as if the coach sill favors the former players. Also, the new might be resisting to accept a new style of playing that may go against everything that they had learned under their previous coach. Luckily, I have been blessed with a dedicated, personable and hard-working group that makes me proud of them everyday. Not only do they have a great time together off the court, they understand the value of practice (which includes many grueling drills). Additionally, this is a fine group of students athletes that continue to maintain one of the highest GPA's of any badminton team in CIF. Goal for the season: Winning league is always the most important goal of the year. We hope to make a strong showing in the CIF playoffs, but a championship is somewhat unlikely, since one team has obtained a collection of nationally ranked players. It would be a fantastic bonus to win all 16 games. It has been four years since Diamond Bar has won a league championship and this is the group to end that drought!! We would also like to hang our fourth team Academic banner. |
