1
¶Now the sons of Issachar were, Tola, and Puah, Jashub, and
Shimron, four.
2 And the sons of Tola; Uzzi, and Rephaiah, and Jeriel, and Jahmai,
and Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their father's house, to wit,
of Tola: they were valiant men of might in their generations; whose
number was in the days of David two and twenty thousand and six
hundred.
3 And the sons of Uzzi; Izrahiah: and the sons of Izrahiah; Michael,
and Obadiah, and Joel, Ishiah, five: all of them chief men.
4 And with them, by their generations, after the house of their
fathers, were bands of soldiers for war, six and thirty thousand
men: for they had many wives and sons.
5 And their brethren among all the families of Issachar were valiant
men of might, reckoned in all by their genealogies fourscore and
seven thousand.
6 The sons of Benjamin; Bela, and Becher, and Jediael, three.
7 And the sons of Bela; Ezbon, and Uzzi, and Uzziel, and Jerimoth,
and Iri, five; heads of the house of their fathers, mighty men of
valour; and were reckoned by their genealogies twenty and two thousand
and thirty and four.
8 And the sons of Becher; Zemira, and Joash, and Eliezer, and Elioenai,
and Omri, and Jerimoth, and Abiah, and Anathoth, and Alameth. All
these are the sons of Becher.
9 And the number of them, after their genealogy by their generations,
heads of the house of their fathers, mighty men of valour, was twenty
thousand and two hundred.
10 The sons also of Jediael; Bilhan: and the sons of Bilhan; Jeush,
and Benjamin, and Ehud, and Chenaanah, and Zethan, and Tharshish,
and Ahishahar.
11 All these the sons of Jediael, by the heads of their fathers,
mighty men of valour, were seventeen thousand and two hundred soldiers,
fit to go out for war and battle.
12 Shuppim also, and Huppim, the children of Ir, and Hushim, the
sons of Aher.
13 The sons of Naphtali; Jahziel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shallum,
the sons of Bilhah.
14 The sons of Manasseh; Ashriel, whom she bare: (but his concubine
the Aramitess bare Machir the father of Gilead:
15 And Machir took to wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim, whose
sister's name was Maachah;) and the name of the second was Zelophehad:
and Zelophehad had daughters.
16 And Maachah the wife of Machir bare a son, and she called his
name Peresh; and the name of his brother was Sheresh; and his sons
were Ulam and Rakem.
17 And the sons of Ulam; Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead, the
son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.
18 And his sister Hammoleketh bare Ishod, and Abiezer, and Mahalah.
19 And the sons of Shemida were, Ahian, and Shechem, and Likhi,
and Aniam.
20 ¶And the sons of Ephraim; Shuthelah, and Bered his son,
and Tahath his son, and Eladah his son, and Tahath his son,
21 And Zabad his son, and Shuthelah his son, and Ezer, and Elead,
whom the men of Gath that were born in that land slew, because they
came down to take away their cattle.
22 And Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren
came to comfort him.
23 And when he went in to his wife, she conceived, and bare a son,
and he called his name Beriah, because it went evil with his house.
24 (And his daughter was Sherah, who built Bethhoron the nether,
and the upper, and Uzzensherah.)
25 And Rephah was his son, also Resheph, and Telah his son, and
Tahan his son,
26 Laadan his son, Ammihud his son, Elishama his son,
27 Non his son, Jehoshua his son.
28 And their possessions and habitations were, Bethel and the towns
thereof, and eastward Naaran, and westward Gezer, with the towns
thereof; Shechem also and the towns thereof, unto Gaza and the towns
thereof:
29 And by the borders of the children of Manasseh, Bethshean and
her towns, Taanach and her towns, Megiddo and her towns, Dor and
her towns. In these dwelt the children of Joseph the son of Israel.
30 The sons of Asher; Imnah, and Isuah, and Ishuai, and Beriah,
and Serah their sister.
31 And the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel, who is the father
of Birzavith.
32 And Heber begat Japhlet, and Shomer, and Hotham, and Shua their
sister.
33 And the sons of Japhlet; Pasach, and Bimhal, and Ashvath. These
are the children of Japhlet.
34 And the sons of Shamer; Ahi, and Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram.
35 And the sons of his brother Helem; Zophah, and Imna, and Shelesh,
and Amal.
36 The sons of Zophah; Suah, and Harnepher, and Shual, and Beri,
and Imrah,
37 Bezer, and Hod, and Shamma, and Shilshah, and Ithran, and Beera.
38 And the sons of Jether; Jephunneh, and Pispah, and Ara.
39 And the sons of Ulla; Arah, and Haniel, and Rezia.
40 All these were the children of Asher, heads of their father's
house, choice and mighty men of valour, chief of the princes. And
the number throughout the genealogy of them that were apt to the
war and to battle was twenty and six thousand men.

Ezekiel
20
|
|
1 ¶And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month,
the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel
came to enquire of the LORD, and sat before me.
2 Then came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
3 Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me? As I live,
saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
4 Wilt thou judge them, son of man, wilt thou judge them? cause
them to know the abominations of their fathers:
5 ¶And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when
I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house
of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt,
when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your
God;
6 In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them
forth of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them,
flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands:
7 Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations
of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt:
I am the LORD your God.
8 But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they
did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither
did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out
my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst
of the land of Egypt.
9 But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted
before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made
myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of
Egypt.
10 ¶Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of
Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.
11 And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which
if a man do, he shall even live in them.
12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me
and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify
them.
13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness:
they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments,
which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they
greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them
in the wilderness, to consume them.
14 But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted
before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.
15 Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that
I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing
with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;
16 Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes,
but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.
17 Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither
did I make an end of them in the wilderness.
18 But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not
in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments,
nor defile yourselves with their idols:
19 I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments,
and do them;
20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and
you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.
21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked
not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which
if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths:
then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my
anger against them in the wilderness.
22 Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's
sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen,
in whose sight I brought them forth.
23 I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that
I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through
the countries;
24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised
my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after
their fathers' idols.
25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments
whereby they should not live;
26 And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to
pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make
them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.
27 ¶Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel,
and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers
have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against
me.
28 For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted
up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill,
and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices,
and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there
also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink
offerings.
29 Then I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go?
And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day.
30 Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye
whoredom after their abominations?
31 For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass
through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even
unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel?
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
32 And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that
ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries,
to serve wood and stone.
33 ¶As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand,
and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule
over you:
34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you
out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand,
and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.
35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there
will I plead with you face to face.
36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the
land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring
you into the bond of the covenant:
38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that
transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country
where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel:
and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye,
serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not
hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts,
and with your idols.
40 For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel,
saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of
them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there
will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations,
with all your holy things.
41 I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out
from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye
have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the
heathen.
42 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you
into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted
up mine hand to give it to your fathers.
43 And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein
ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own
sight for all your evils that ye have committed.
44 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with
you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according
to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
45 ¶Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
46 Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word
toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;
47 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD;
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and
it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the
flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south
to the north shall be burned therein.
48 And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it: it shall
not be quenched.
49 Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?

Luke
17

1 ¶Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that
offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his
neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of
these little ones.
3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee,
rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven
times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt
forgive him.
5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed,
ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the
root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle,
will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go
and sit down to meat?
8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup,
and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and
afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were
commanded him? I trow not.
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which
are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done
that which was our duty to do.
11 ¶And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed
through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men
that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have
mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto
the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were
cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back,
and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and
he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where
are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save
this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made
thee whole.
20 ¶And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom
of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God
cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the
kingdom of God is within you.
22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall
desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not
see it.
23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after
them, nor follow them.
24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under
heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also
the Son of man be in his day.
25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this
generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the
days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given
in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the
flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they
drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and
brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff
in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that
is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever
shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed;
the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken,
and the other left.
36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the
other left.
37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said
unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered
together.
