Dragonball Dragonball
The first installment of the Dragon Ball series, Dragon Ball, chronicles the journeys of a young boy named Goku and a teenage girl named Bulma who have embarked on a quest to find the seven dragon balls; mystical items that bring forth Shenlong, a magical dragon capable of granting the finder anything they desire.
Along the way, Goku, in addition to the martial arts abilities his "grandfather" Gohan taught him, develops many extraordinary powers that had previously lied dormant within. A myriad of characters are also introduced throughout the series (Yamcha, Krillin, Chi-Chi, Tien, Emperor Pilaf and the Red Ribbon Army, to name a few). Dragonball ends when Goku joins the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai (World Martial Arts Tournament) at the age of 18.
