History
The day is May 7th. The day before the opening of the seventh season. Today is the last time that teams will be even in the league table this season (except in the case of a freak 8-team tie, which is not likely). Here is a look at each team's prospects heading into the new season.

Arsenal (Season 6: 4-6; missed the playoffs)
The Arsenal head into season 7 with hopes that it will be the golden championship season that long-time star Harry Pugliese has awaited. He trained hard in the offseason, and the results should show as he has visibly increased his physical fitness. Rookie Brian Paulsen is no panacea himself for the Arsenal's ills, but he does bring a catching ability that this team has lacked for a long time. The Arsenal hopes rest on how well Pugliese and Paulsen combine to lead the team this season.

Assassins (Season 6: 6-4; lost the Elite Final)
The Assassins had the crem de la crem on their roster last season, boasting four highly-rated players. Their three males (Fannin, Pizarro, Walton) remain on the roster for this season, but Yolanda Mann has jumped ship to the division rival Hitmen. Unable to find a replacement for their female star, the Assassins' success is not guaranteed, especially with the shaky play that the three have shown in the past.

Bullets (Season 6: 4-6; lost in the Classic 1st Round)
Arthur Player, the Bullets' standout for the past five seasons, enters this season seemingly more confident than in the past, finally able to find footing in his ability with a campaign that just fell short of MVP caliber last season. The typical cast of characters in the form of Lydia Flatt and Virginia Wheaton remains, and rookie Donald Hoyt will have a vast opportunity to learn under the wing of Player this season. It looks more and more though that this will only be a rebuilding season for the club than a competitive one.

Cannons (Season 6: 3-7; lost in the Elite 1st Round)
Too long stuck in old losing ways, the Cannons decided to cast off the self-seeking Ronald Rupe and bring in Shawn Walling, a top-notch competitor. The trade for Stephanie McCulloch that sent Rupe to the Hitmen will instantly improve the Cannons on the female side of the roster. A seasoned combination of veteran leadership and youthful vibrance could be just what the doctor ordered.
