Mike Swan brought Wayland Wrestling into the modern
era. Mike was Waylands first 2 time LCAA County
Champion and a 2 time Sectional Champion at 132 lbs.
He was one point away from being Waylands 1st State
Championship contender in 1993, and placed 3rd at
Supersectionals in 1994. Mike's 33 win season in 1994
was the first 30 win season recorded in Section 5 Class C
history. Mike won the Samuel Cappadonia Award
as Livingston Countys Most Outstanding wrestler. His
career records of 100-20, 83% winning percentage with
58 pins and 128 takedowns remains in the top 5 all-time
at Wayland. Voted 3 times Waylands Most Valuable
wrestler in 1992, 93, 94.
