John Pangia

Coach John Pangia coached at Wayland from 1992 until
1999. He was Varsity coach for 6 seasons. He coached 2 LCAA
County Championship teams in 1995, 1997. John was LCAA
Coach-of-the Year in 1995. He coached 10 LCAA Champions and
8 Section V Champions. He coached Wayland's 1996 State Champion
Tim Page, as well as a 3rd and 5th place State wrestler in 1997. John
began statistical record keeping in Wayland-Cohocton wrestling and
brought an organized and disciplined approach to the program. John
was responsible for creation of the WCCS-JV tournament and began
the process with WAWC to buy new wrestling mats for the wrestling
teams. John actively recruited wrestlers throughout the school and
produced the largest teams in WCCS history. John is a supporter of
Youth Wrestling and the WAWC.
